Walk along the frozen river. Where quiet set in like the fog. Nothing but the wind whistling through the trees.
Perhaps a bridge will lead us into the spring. With the promise of gentle breezes and soft blossoms.
Beyond the bridge, hope dissipates as the frozen river travels as far as the eye can see.

What a sight! I imagine if it were completely frozen over that you could skate from one end to the other huh? OR would you run into the duck and geese airport and request clearance first? π
I’d think twice as this was most certainly not frozen over. Indeed though, clearing for take off needs to be given by the goose police.
I shall submit my application to the mallards then, they seem to be the bosses for that! π
Yeah..good luck with that. π
A silver in the world.
Thank you so much Meihsiu. So beautifully said.
Excellent selection of beautiful winter photos.
Appreciate your kind comment Sartenada.
These are so enjoyable – very painterly
You are so kind Diana. Thank you so much for your compliment.
Winter wonderland indeed!
Everything was so frozen Fatima. Black ice everywhere.
If only taking a bridge would take us into spring. What a nice thought and lovely snowy images. I do love the winter landscape though.
I keep hoping, but there is no relief in sight. Perhaps in a few weeks.
Real life winter wonderland π
These are beautiful.
Thank you so much my dear. Hope all is well with you.
Thrilling photographs Emily – love these scenes in B&W
Thank you so much Mary! I’ve been having fun getting out and exploring the last of winter.
I just got a chill looking at this beautiful captures – brrr π Stay Warm and Be Safe!
Be chilled with me my dear. I’m still frozen here and will be in the unforeseeable future. Wish I was in Sunny California. Wait a minute..isn’t that a song?
There are many songs about Sunny California π We so need the moisture here in the Sierras – way below average – even made the national news this morning.
Lovely, serene B&Ws! I like how yours are more silver in tone than, well, I guess they could be. It brings a quiet sort of art to them. Props to you for braving the cold, the B&W surely does justice to the cold as well. π
The software I use has about 20 different tones to choose from. I had a hard time picking, but you’re right, the silver tone is what spoke to me with these scenes.
I did step out of the car and slipped on black ice. Whoop ! Right on my butt. Thankfully I was holding on the car door handle so didn’t land hard. Promptly went back into the car vowed never to get out again. But then I hit this bridge, and of course I had to get out to get the shot. π
It’s so hard to choose sometimes between all the subtle shades. Good job with your final pick.
Oh lord I’m glad you’re okay, falling on ice is no joke. Alas, I would have had to get out at the bridge too. π
I did laugh, then curse as I was really needing to find a tree. Told myself to wait. π
