2013 Project 365

Project 365/149 – A Punk Rocker

I was up late last night, playing with my iPad 2 when I really should be sleeping. But creativity knows no clock and I browsed around the App store looking for interesting photo editing apps. Somehow I stumbled across the Percolator app that transforms your image into mosaics.

For some reason my finger landed on the image above. A simple landscape image taken at Swan Creek Wetlands overlooking Key Bridge. I really liked what this app did with this image. Kind of channeling Monet in a way.

While running errands today something bright caught my eye. When do you ever see a car with a mohawk? Not just any car, but a bright orange VW bug !

20130530-165432.jpgWhat a great subject to play with fun apps to create cool looks with. Couldn’t wait to percolate this one.

20130530-165442.jpgBut that wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to see what other cool apps I could find to transform this punk rocker car. Enter an artistic transformation app known as Glaze. A great and easy to use app to make your image painterly like.

20130530-165453.jpgBut wait ! There is more ! What else can I do with this image? One mohawk car isn’t enough. I want two ! Download the Photo Reflection App by Big Blue Clip and you can do what I can do.

All of these apps are easy to use and have plenty of options to make the image the way you would like. There were a couple of other apps that I tried, which were a bust. Next time you’re up late at night, who knows what you may create.

Living creatively is really important to maintain throughout your life. And living creatively doesn’t mean only artistic creativity, although that’s part of it. It means being yourself, not just complying with the wishes of other people.

  1. This is what I am afraid of: insomnia night playing IPad. Those are very creative. I just bought an IPad to bring for travel use.

  2. Oh wow man, really groovy!

Please warn me the next time that you’re going to post photos like these, flashbacks from the sixties aren’t what I expect to find here. 😉

  3. Late night fun is the best! You’ve inspired me to play with my phone’s photo settings … more to come. .:-)

  4. There is so much fun to be had with digital photography! That’s what my husband teaches and his students love it! I’ve had a bit of fun myself with it too and we like to make our own birthday and Christmas cards using those applications. Keep experimenting, but I must warn you it’s ‘a bit’ addictive!

    • Really? Your husband teaches digital photography? That’s wonderful. Where does he teach it at? I ended up liking the painting effect one the best. I’m not sure I’ll use the others too much, which is a good thing.
