Today was supposed to be a day of hiking. But the spring air called me and I ventured off to a Industrial wasteland, turned protected natural area at Swan Creek Wetlands. The wetlands is located next to the Port of Baltimore’s dredge area under the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
The wind was brisk and the temperature was still cool. It didn’t stop me to enjoy the avian visitors that were present today. In particular this pair of Ospreys that were setting up house.
I realized that I’ve been having way too much fun capturing nature and sharing my discoveries with you. So attempts to find something more structural, something more textured, something different for you to enjoy today.
I was hoping the cherry blossoms would be blooming in Washington DC this week, but the continuing cold temperatures is delaying their floral display. Looks like next week will be Washington DC, Cherry Blossoms time. It’ll be good for this country mouse to get back into the city.

Wonderful Osprey photos! I’ve seen them regularly the past week over the Shenandoah when I cross. I need to look for the nest when it warms up!
Oh how wonderful ! I had no idea they were in Shenandoah. BTW, cherry blossoms still not out today. I’m thinking I’ll head down on Monday.
I’m on deadline for my magazine until Wednesday, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to make a trip to D.C. until later next week. Keep me posted on your plans, though. You never know…I might get caught up!

Funny, all of the osprey nests are open like this. Somehow that is how they live.
