Some little treasures secretly tucked away in a large garden. Where thousands of bulbs have been planted, and over the years are the few survivors.

The garden is growth and change
and that means loss as well as
constant new treasures to make up for a few disasters.

Breathtaking….!
You are too kind Andy. Thank you so much!
you’re so welcome, keep up the awesome photography 🙂
Quite amazing.
Thanks Charlie. I really should give some sense of scale as these are less than two inches across.
Pretty!!
Thank you so much Rick. Means so much coming from a fantastic photography like you. 🙂

You always make my day full of joy.
Always looking for the shiny side of life right Rebecca?
They are deliciously looking flowers. The centre can become saffron. Gorgeous.
You know, I actually grew some saffron crocus one year and I was humbled by how you get just 3 strands from one bloom. I appreciate the cost now of Saffron. Yet another bulb that didn’t survive the years.
beautifully done – big beautiful things come in small packages
They really do don’t they Will. Thank you so much for your kind comment.
Small, but classic – and each tiny treasure featuring its own tiny treasure in its reproductive organs. Just beautiful. 🙂
Such a creative comment. I never would have thought about the stamens in that way, but you’re right! Thank you so much.
Are moles eating the bulbs, or is there another reason they’re not coming back? I learned to surround all other bulbs with daffodils, as they are poisonous to moles, so moles avoid them.
Moles, squirrels, wet winters..who knows? I have an area where moles can’t get to due to the septic drain field being underneath. Tons of rocks. Even those have a life span of only 2 or 3 years. Some just aren’t meant to last that long.
Exquisite treasures Emily!
Thank you so much Madhu.
How very lovely, Emily. They’re like little jewels. They are beautiful survivors. 🙂
You are too kind Sylvia. It’s great seeing you and hope all is well with you.
Spectacular with perfect lighting! Love the little treasures, all three are stunning.
You are too kind Mary. The lighting could have been better as it was cloudy. I just played with the images a bit in post processing. These are the cutest little bulbs and are so hardy ! I need lots more.
Wow! Look what you found! Lovely Emily!
Easy to find Phil. They’re in my front yard. 🙂 Thank you so much!
