Machu Picchu
We all dream of verdant terraces and granite reminders of Incas past.
Visiting Machu Picchu is nearly on everyone’s Bucket-List. Having had the good fortune to have visited Machu Picchu twice in the past few years, one can only imagine the number of photos that were taken. So what does one do when wanting to show the fabulous photos that they brought home from this beautiful and enchanting Citadel.
Do we start with the classic Panoramic photo that is captured from the Watchman’s Hut? Starting at dawn, the citadel opens at 6:00 a.m. for entry. Completely subjected to weather conditions, one can witness the illumination of the citadel as the sun rises.
Or perhaps we show the amazing terraces
throughout the citadel.
We can play with windows and doorways
and show things beyond.
Or go around and harass the local animals.
It is so difficult to pick just a few favorites
as so many photos are a wonderful reminder
of a visit to this mystical and beautiful citadel.

Amazing on so many different levels!
Thank you so much!
Loving your photos, especially the 2nd one – ha! Have a Great Day!
Thanks Renee ! That was from 2009 from my little point and shoot. I managed to get great shots that trip. Was a bit distracted this time and messed up my photo ops. but came out with some keepers of closer in shots though.
Your photos are just breathtaking – so glad YOU climbed all those stairs for us!
What is the animal in the 3rd photo from the bottom? It looks like a cross between a rabbit and a rat.
It’s a Chinchilla ! Very cute guy. Thanks for the stair climbing. I’m ready for more!
Amazing photos – so interesting… 😉
I have to make the trip to Peru… ‘hahaha’
Let’s go Drake ! I’m ready to do another stretch of the Inca Trail called the Lares Trail. That one can be horse supported. 🙂
Remembering my trip!
So happy to bring back good memories to you!
I don’t want to sound overly important but I swear you wrote this post just for me! 🙂 It’s such a great series of photos, and you cover all of the different photographic techniques, ideas and compositions!
🙂 thanks Aaron! I still have tons of photos I’d like to share but have to restrain myself. Time to self critic and only show a few of the ‘gallery’ shots.
Lovely pictures!
