The Hunting Island Lighthouse was built in 1875 and is a Segmented cast-iron light house design. One of two which the other is Cape Canaveral light in Florida.
With 175 steps inside, you know I had to walk all of them to get to the top and enjoy the view. It was hot, I was sweating but the stairs were worth the challenge.

Always have to climb those spiral staircases for the view at the top of the lighthouses and the interesting shapes in the ironwork.
It is so true..thankfully you can stop along the way. 🙂 Thanks!
The spiral staircase adds that little something that makes it look wow! 🙂
So true Andy. You do wonder who the architect was that created this beautiful work of art.
I do indeed! 😀
Love those stairs.
Thank you Sherry. Me too.
Wow, 175 stairs 😎 !!!
Piece of cake Rexlin…I just took my time. 🙂
Worth every step of the way! Well done! 👍
And it was hot Fatima. By the time I got to the top I was sweating all over the place. Dripped down the center while trying to take some shots. LOL!
No pain, no gain! 😅😅😅
I always love pictures of spiral staircases in lighthouses. They look like snail shells. 🙂
That’s a wonderful way to look at it. Thank you so much.
