There’s been a bird feeder in the garden this past week. Not the one that you can buy at Home Depot, but rather one with feathers. This beautiful Cooper’s Hawk has been swooping into the Cherry tree at the manor, hoping for some little birdy delicacies.
Looking up…looking down…looking all around.
Beautiful Hawk π The one Stellar Jay we have in the backyard just goes nuts when my husband is back there working – he dive bombed him in the back of the head a few months back. I thought for sure the grill grate was going to fly through the sliding glass door – scared the crud out of my hubbie.
Jays can be crazy can’t they? They really do buzz around here large as life. Poor hubby ! Hope he was all right and didn’t have jay nightmares after that.
Aggressive buggers! Hubbie is okay and no jay nightmares.
Don’t suppose this hawk likes crows an Ravens? π
Oddly enough they give each other wide berth. The crow was in earlier. Haven’t seen a Raven in the garden yet. They’re rather rare.
That is odd, maybe some weird rule in nature or the hawk just doesn’t like the taste of a carrion scavenger huh!
We’ve had one around here for the last couple of weeks…he often lands on our deck railing. Beautiful captures, as always!
Oh lucky you..I have such a hard time sneaking up on them to get their picture. They have such sharp eyes and are skittish.
If the hawk sticks around you won’t be seeing many warblers.
You know you’re right. Haven’t seen one since!
Looks like he’s on one foot? Tucked perhaps? π
Tucked indeed….I have no idea why birds do that. Weird
Superb!
Aww..thank you!
Beautiful capture!!!
You are so kind Maya. Thank you!
