Perhaps the year was 1960 high in the Andes Mountains on the edge of Lake Titicaca on the Bolivia side. Traveling, my mother and two older sisters were ready to embark on an adventure. Where they were to go, only they know. Perhaps to the Island of the Sun.

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure.
There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

What an amazing capture – such a moment in time!
Somehow this scene captured me. Family or not. Makes you wonder what the mother was thinking.
I’m often like that with photos of that era as they seem to be somehow void of any emotion. All very staid.
Hum, interesting. I’ll be posting more images from this time period in the Andes mountains, you just might change your mind. 🙂
I’m guessing those in the Andes weren’t so “suppressed”, lol! 🙂
beautiful….
Thank you!
There is no feeling like looking at the horizon and wondering what there is beyond. That’s what got me into travelling in the first place.
You have said this so poetically. It truly is a special feeling – wondering about the unknown.
I thought it’s Lake Titicaca. Where were you then?
I wasn’t even a mere thought Perpetua! 🙂
