It’s hard to imagine that after such an exciting week in the Baltimore Harbor the Star Spangled Spectacular, that the ships are now gone. Heading out today, for parts north and south these maritime visitors graced us with their majesty during their stay.
The Witchcraftis one of these wonderful vessels. Built in 1902 in Massachusetts, she has been a ‘true witch of the seas’ mesmerizing and enchanting both owners and visitors alike. She is a true work of art, and has been in continual restoration since the mid-1970’s by her current owners.
I felt as if I was under a spell gazing on “The Witch” as each part of her spoke to me, filled with spirit and history.
There are many more captures I’ve yet to share with you of this wonderful maritime event. You’ll see them sprinkled in the future to bring us back to glorious summer days. Perhaps one day we’ll get out to sail the high seas together.

Oh Pit, you would have loved to have been there. And the military vessels were truly impressive.
I love that name! I’ve always been fascinated with witches. Hearing that a boat is named Witchcraft conjures up such wonderful imagery for me.
Is that right? Have you ever been to Salem? I’m guessing you probably have. I’m also addicted to the new series Witches of East end. Have you watched that?

I was in that huge lake in Chicago, can’t remember the name, for 3 days and two nights. In one day, it felt like I was in the big sea! Unbelievably stormy, tidal wavey lake. Never again. Thank you.

It’s a sin for some one to have let such a fine boat get in as bad of shape as it was in back in the 1970’s! I’m glad that some one rescued her and restored her to her present glory!
It is good fortune that has befallen her and will be preserved and remembered for a long time to come. A true labor of love.

LOL ! You are so sweet – I need to get out and photograph more. I’ve been spending a lot of time with the horses and getting away from something else I love to do. The next month has a few adventures though. 🙂
