Good morning ! Wondering what you’re doing today. Got anything fun for me to eat? I’ve been running around the garden, wondering where the butterflies are. It’s time for the Monarchs to pass through and I’m looking for those bright orange beauties.
Here’s one – all by itself along with the other butterflies in the garden. Chasing each other, all wanting the best spot to sit. What’s that I see? Bright yellow on the Joe Pye Weed?
Wonder what other butterflies I can find in the garden. Perhaps another swallowtail may be around.
Even the bees are getting into the action of the late summer blooms.
Oh boy, I need to go as someone is chattering at me to get out of their way. I don’t dare challenge the hummers.

Wow! You’ve really out done yourself with these, they are beyond great, especially the hummer in flight!
You are truly too kind Jerry ! I wish I was out shooting more like you have been lately. I’m jealous of your wonderful adventures.
All that in your garden? Lucky, lucky you! Beautiful shots, as always.
You know Fatima, you’re absolutely right ! I am indeed so blessed to have such wonderful gifts from heaven just outside my kitchen door. Thank you so much. π
These are superb Em
Aww…thank you SO much Mark!
Beautiful butterflies, so well captured as always π
Thanks Andy! Happy Wednesday to you and hope all is well. π
So far so good! in a weird semi writing hiatus too lol
It’s towards the end of summer. I think I’m just starting to ease up from so much work.
How are you finding the time to take such beautiful photos on top of work etc? π
I love the colorful butterflies and the hummingbird images are amazing. Still, it’s the squirrel that produced the strongest emotional response with me–it is so cute and the pose is priceless. (I am pretty sure that the unidentified dark swallowtail is a Spicebush Swallowtail, because it has two rows of orange dots and the inner one is interrupted by a blue comet-shaped spot.)
You’re right on the Spicebush Swallowtail. Not sure why his title didn’t make it in there. One of my Helen Keller moments.
Agreed with the squirrel, his pose was just too expressive and I want to ask him “a penny for your thoughts?”
Beautiful shots Emily!
Thank you so much Mary!
Beautiful Captures – makes me smile and kicks off my week π Happy Week!
That is wonderful that this started your week off from a beautiful place. Happy week to you too. It’s going by way too quickly.
Stunning captures, Emily. I love the butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers, and bees, but that first pic really stole my heart. π
Isn’t he the cutest thing ever? We know each other well and he is always testing the boundaries of where he can go to eat bird feed. I tell him “down” all the time! LOL!
