One of the more curious things I pondered while on our African safari in Tanzania is how many animals spent their time along the road. Busy with trucks filled with tourists, you would think the wildlife would go find a quiet area far off in the distant plains away from the traffic.
But they love being around the roads, and even feel safe enough to raise their young. While driving towards the Seregenti National Park, we passed the burrow of a Jackal family. The kids were out playing in the early morning.
I could have spent hours watching them go back and forth, following dad, chasing each other and just generally being kids. Mom watched closely by knowing that all was well.
Happy Mother’s day weekend!
