Along the marshy edge of the lake.
Two families hide among the water lilies.
Dragonflies buzz by while Killdeer make their call, Kew Kew Kew.
A mother pretends to be injured while her children swim to safety among the water lilies.
But some of them didn’t hear the call for safety and lingered along the shore.
Mama calls for her babies to come out to the water lilies.
At last the family is together.
To float among the pink and white blossoms.
Blending in the colors of the sea of lilies.
How gorgeous – or as my eleven says about all things cute… so adorable! 🙂
That’s a big word for an eleven year old. Brilliant!
I’m with Joanne, The little ones are adorable 🙂
I agree..think the four ticks I got was worth the view. 🙂
I agree! 😀
Beautiful – love the colors in the 2nd photo 🙂 Happy Week!
Thank you so much for your kindness Renee. Love to hear which ones you like.
How cute. They look like they have swim goggles on 😉
That is so true !! Thanks Lynne for the great perspective.
Love these photos! But then, I just love the Wood Ducks!
What’s so funny is that I tried to hard to find them last year and couldn’t find them. This year I see mamas and babies all over the place.
Fascinating photos… 🙂
I knew you’d appreciate the ducks Drake.
The little puff balls are very cute, and I’m very jealous! Wood ducks are one of the few species of critters that don’t like me or allow me to get close to them.
Is that right? You actually have a nemesis bird? I find that so hard to believe as you’re such a bird whisperer. Hope you’re having a wonderful summer.
The summer has been a good one so far, and yes, wood ducks seem to hate me for some reason. I may have to cheat and go to a duck pond at a park to get good photos of them.
You should ! It’ll break the bad mojo. I had to do that and voila! Worked perfectly.
What a beautiful combination, Emily. Great shots. 🙂
Wow, thank you so very much for your wonderful comment. 🙂
Terrific setting for this beautiful family.
It truly is Phil. I’ve been so lucky this year. This is the fourth family I’ve found.
Reblogged this on Gulf Coast Beaches.
