2013 Project 365

Project 365/230 – Crawly Things

Sometimes one can find the most interesting crawly things in the least expected places. A scene most likely only seen in Maryland, and perhaps Florida grocery stores caught my eye.

In the fish department was a table filled with ice and something small and green and blue was squirming on the ice. But of course ! It is a pile of Maryland Blue Crab. Fresh out of the water, lively on the ice.

It was pretty cool to watch them move about, and even a little boy joined in. I listened to his mother giving him the warning about the crab’s pinchers. “Remember when you were on the boat and something really bit you? Well..that’s exactly the same thing.” Stopped the little boy right in his tracks.

And this Jurassic Park style moth was lounging outside my kitchen door. Posing perfectly for me. Now if only it could teach my cat to pose so nicely.

Hope you have something fun planned for this weekend. A friend and I are heading to the Maryland State Fair tomorrow. It’ll be the first time I’ve seen it, and can’t wait!

  1. My son is GREAT at finding creepy crawly things two! He would make an interesting shooting partner for yoU!

  2. Once bitten, twice shy, I think that I’ve heard that before. πŸ˜‰

That reminds me, I found another snake for you, but I accidentally deleted the photo before I could post it, I hope that you won’t be too disappointed.

  3. I’m sad I missed your webinar, it was at 5 in the morning here apparently 😦 is there a way to watch it afterwards? And amazing shots! Moths are so interesting, though they creep me out these days because they ruin all my food! :/ Constant battle!
