Yesterday was a very rainy day with the rain giving out to heavy fog late in the afternoon. The night was nothing short of pea soup and awakening, the fog began to lift to give way to the sun.
Heading over to Southwest Harbor to pick up some friends, the fog lightly dusted the harbor with its mist. It truly was a magical view.
Please bear with me on this post as several of my photos wouldn’t load up to WordPress, so it’s a small view today. Just a few more days in beautiful Mount Desert Island in Maine before returning to Maryland. How I will miss this magical place.

A low line of shore was visible at first on the right between the movement of the waves and fog, but when we came further it was lost sight of, and nothing could be seen but the mist curling in the rigging, and a small circle of foam.

You make me envious and longing for the seaside.
Best regards from southern Texas,
Pit
Oh Pit..you need to get to the ocean then. Even Galveston would be a great place to visit. I can only imagine how hot it is down there.
Yes, I agree. Galveston certainly is on our bucket list of destinations close by. We quite frequently drive down to Port Aransas [http://tinyurl.com/l8b2zhr], btw, and/or to Rockport/Fulton [http://tinyurl.com/knkdgby].
Thanks for the trip, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed seeing it through your eyes.
It is truly my pleasure to share my journey with you Mary. Wish you could be here to experience it with me.
I love the quiet solitude of early morning fog on a body of water, thank you for reminding me of that with your wonderful photos.
You understand perfectly the magic I have been able to enjoy with these early morning rises. It has been worth the 4am wake up calls, although it’s starting to catch up with me.
Mid-afternoon naps, that’s my answer, and always has been. I follow the lead of nature, when everything else is taking a siesta, so do I.
Beautiful shots!!! Especially second one is awesome!!!
Thank you so much Rexlin, so happy you shared with me your favorite.
Fog over the water is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Isn’t it amazing? I absolutely love fog, and we get plenty here on the island. It is so magical.
Looks great! how are the lobstahs and steamahs coming along? π
Oh My..can you believe we’ve actually had too much seafood. I’m ready for a good side of beef. π
Still pretty have you bumped into Martha or George and Barbra while you have been in Maine π So many come here for get-a-ways π
Not yet but I see Martha’s boat in Seal Harbor
π Weather must be nicer in upstate NY π
