It’s been a really long time since I’ve been to any flea market. This Saturday morning was a perfect day to go out and explore one.
My first stop when I arrived with this melt-in-your-mouth, I can eat a hundred of these, miniature fried dough donuts. They were devoured in seconds. Energized by the sugar I began walking along the aisleways.
I had forgotten how filled with characters a flea market has. Such interesting and colorful people and a perfect place for people watching.
All sorts of cool things are available for purchase. It was hard to resist.
But the true star of the day, the one that stole the show was this charming little girl waiting in the produce truck for the day to pass.
It was a great adventure and a fun way to pass the time. If there is any kind of market near you, take advantage and enjoy it as much as you can.

You have so many wonderful adventures!!! And I am always grateful that I can tag along….
Something tells me that if we lived in the city together, we’d never be home! Too many adventures to explore.
🙂 You are so right!!!
Well, it looks colorful and interesting, and your photos are great, but I’ll stick to the woods. 😉
As you know..I love the woods as much as you. But sometimes the city is required to keep things interesting. I was birding first though and saw my first blue-gray gnatcatchers. They are too cute! Back to the woods tomorrow morning.
A gnatcatcher, now I’m jealous, having not seen one yet.
On my home page, bottom right is links to my flickr photostream. You can see my gnatcatchers there. I saw 6 of them. Woo Hoo!
Woo Hoo is right!
Wonderful photos, excellent captured… 🙂
Thank you so much Drake!
Looks like you had an awesome time! Awesome photos 🙂
We really did, the people there were super friendly and liked to chat.
I Love flea markets. I used to sell at markets myself for years ! Maybe will do some of it again when I get my RV. Where is this one?
Hi Sierra, This is in Pasadena, Maryland. I can imagine the stories you can tell when working at the markets. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Hope to see you back soon! Bella
I have been looking forward to the opening day for flea markets and yard sales. I love your photos.
You are so sweet Charlie, I bet you get some really interesting flea markets in Seattle. The people were wonderful at this one, but the things available for purchase were just ok.
The image of the little girl is priceless 🙂
I couldn’t have scripted a better kodak moment. It was indeed priceless. Thanks Cynthia.
I love markets of all kinds, I have a stall at our local country markets.
But, we don’t seem to have markets like this flea market. We have them over east in a few places, not here.
Your photos really capture the nature of them 🙂
Oh, my MiL sometimes runs a donut stall at fairs. Life is good 🙂
Oh you must be so busy then. I saw the amount of things displayed and marveled at how much work it takes to put the items out, then repack them at the end of the day. What types of things do you sell?
This was a simple flea market. I’ve seen others with many antiques in them.
It’s great meeting you and look forward to sharing more with you in the future. Bella
I love the shot of the guy with the power tools.
I sell photo prints, so my pack up is much simpler than that guys!
Nice to meet you too 😀
Of course, the little is priceless. One cannot afford to buy that princess. Thanks for sharing your day.
Isn’t she just a darling ? I couldn’t believe the pose she was in. I was at the right place at the right time, fast with the camera. She moved just after the shot.
Markets are great places, I love them. Also great for photos and the donuts at them are always way better than they are anywhere else.
Hi Leanne ! You have no idea how amazing those little donuts were. My friend only bought 1/2 dozen for us to share. Needless to say, I inhaled mine. You need to visit a local market for me and share it. I’d love to see it. 🙂
I did do some markets a while back, but I am sure the girls and I can go again, St Andrews market is gorgeous, might see what it is like in the winter. Doesn’t have donuts though, shame. 🙂
Why bother then. 😉
Great photos! The little girl is precious! Jealous you saw gnatcatchers. They are one of the species on our focus list for a study I volunteer on at the Smithsonian. Hope to see them one day!
Now that sounds really interesting Tricia – The Smithsonian thing. I’d like to hear more. The Gnatcatchers are all over this week. Saw another one today. They’re adorable, but talk about moving quickly!
You really captured the spirit of the flea market in these photos. I might have to put that on my agenda for today, since ours are only open on the weekend.
Did you get to the market ? I’d love to hear about your adventure. Same here, only weekends for exploration. Thank you so much for your kind compliment.
Wonderful shots!!! Little girl is so cute!!!!
Thanks Rexlin. She really is adorable.
wonderful and colourful photographs! my flatmate is very into flea markets, she always brings home some beautiful treasures 🙂
Now Vienna would have awesome flea markets. Truly the old world, there must be amazing discoveries. How I am jealous. 🙂
I love flea markets, both for buying and selling. When we first got together, my now husband and I bought loads of stuff from them, including our baby pram and high chair. Selling is exhilarating too, when you have people asking you about the stuff you’re selling and then buy it. It’s a great way to spend a morning and making some extra cash from stuff we don’t need any more.
Beautiful pictures too!
That’s amazing Fatima that you sold things in a market. It’s tons of work. The people were really friendly and loved to chat. It’s a great idea, like you said, to make some money from extra belongings.
Our farmer’s market just opened for the season a week ago, and I really can’t wait to visit it soon.
Oh a farmers market. How I love farmers markets! The one in Gainesville, FLA is fabulous and I used to go every weekend. They’re not as prominent around Annapolis, but do exist. I need to track it down then. Thanks Kate.
It’s great going to the flea market with you – enjoyed the photographs of your star performers!! The dough donuts sounded delicious –
Thank you so much Mary ! I know you would have seen something intriguing there as well. The donuts..oh melt in your mouth.
