All about Hoofbeats & Footprints

Accolades are Due

It is truly amazing just how quickly time flies. Before I knew it, a new year has begun and there are some awards that I have yet to acknowledge that were extended to me (eeh gads..) last year.

These award nominations are truly meaningful as they don’t come around very often and when it is our turn to share the happiness, the best of the bloggers that we follow come to mind. The year ended in a whirlwind, and it looks like 2013 is cranking up to be a fantastic year for Hoofbeats and Footprints.

But it would be meaningless if there weren’t fabulous readers and fellow bloggers out there that showed appreciation for the efforts placed into this blog. As Tom of the Palladian Traveler noted, it is because of the sweat and tears put into Hoofbeats & Footprints that encouraged him to recognize my blog. If he only knew the sweat that poured while out in the heat enjoying these wonderful adventures that I share with you. And the tears that have fallen from great joy and reverence for humanity.

Without further ado, I would like to acknowledge the following awards.

First, The Addictive Blog Award presented by Snigdha of Get Set and Go. Snigdha is from Mumbai, India and showcases a part of the world that I most likely will never have the priviledge to visit. A well written blog that shows exotic places and shares budget travel tips that we all can use.

My nominees for this award are those that I go searching for when I’ve run behind on my reading. There are so many wonderful blogs out there, and I want to follow each and every one of them. But then you’d have to lock me up in a bubble so I can read them 24/7. Sometimes I look for inspiration, other times visual delights and finally just to hear a great story.

Blog of the Year Award banner 600

I am truly grateful for the following bloggers who extended me the 2012 Blog of the Year Award. This is a tremendous honor and speaks of how highly they view Hoofbeats & Footprints. Because of these nominations, I’ve been able to collect a galaxy of stars, which I will continue to stare up above and admire each night.

Awarded by:
Eunice at Nuts for Treasure Eunice is amazingly entertaining with her adventures and life stories.
Renee at Craves Adventure Renee continues to inspire with her insightful posts on life and explorations on the west coast.
Meredith at the Wanderlust Gene A true kindred spirit in the search for adventure.
Lynne at Beyond the Brush A naturally creative writer, artist and photographer that continues to inspire.
Kerry at Lightscapes Nature Blog I wanna be Kerry when I grow up. He gets to go to remote places and takes gorgeous photos.

As this award expired on December 31, 2012, “the buck will stop here.”

Conejo Blanco Blog Hop Award created by Marianne of East of Malaga is a new award for me, and it seems like so much fun. Not only do you get a monthly photo challenge, you also get to nominate two bloggers worthy of a hop-skip-and-a-jump over for a visit.

Awarded by Tom Palladi0 of The Palladian Traveler I have perhaps received one of the kindest, most generous compliments for Hoofbeats & Footprints. “Emily of Bella Remy Photography’s Hoof Beats and Foot Prints – One of the most talented photographer-writer blogs that I’ve encountered thus far, Emily is one of those rare WP Freshly Pressed authors – yes, they really do exist.  Give her latest post a ride, , and then judge for yourself. Whether on horseback or on foot, you can always count on Emily to deliver a well-crafted, creative and informative read.

Wow ! Really Tom? You are awesome and thank you so very much for your incredible words.

Here´s how the CBBH Photo Challenge works:

  • On the first day of each month, I will provide a theme to inspire you to post your own interpretation.  Create your own blog post before the end of the month and entitle it “CBBH Photo Challenge: (subject of the month)”, providing a link to this blog so I´ll know you´re participating, and others can find it, too.
  • The difference between this and other photo challenges is that at the end of your post, you should introduce two links to any other blogs you have visited and, most importantlythat you have commented on, during the past month.  These links might be to someone who you are in regular contact with via your blog, a new blogger in need of some followers, or maybe a person who inspires or motivates you with their writing or photographs.
  • By choosing to take part, you also agree to read and comment on at least two other blogs taking part in the CBBH Photo Challenge.  That way, when we visit each other, we can HOP OVER to your links, connect with others and share a little blog love around!
  • Don´t forget to follow East of Málaga, so you never miss out on the monthly CBBH Photo Challenge announcement.

This is a tough do I ever select just two blogs that I think are worthy a visit?

Travels with the Blonde Coyote If there is anyone I would like to be, Mary Caperton Morton lives a life of freedom and exploration. She embodies the sense of self, spirit and connection to our natural world like no one I’ve ever known. Her adventures are so beautifully captured and shared through her blog. Hop over there and go on an adventure with Mary with her two dogs in their tear drop trailer.

Feygirl at Serenity Spell Shares Florida’s natural beauty with not only her impressive photography, but wonderfully presented articles on the nature that surrounds her. She inspires us to care for our environment and the beautiful creatures within. Definitely hop over and show your appreciation for mother nature.

Thank each and every one of you for being a part of this wonderful blogging community and may we all have a wonderful 2013. Bella

  1. Thank you very much for the nomination, I do appreciate it, however, I decided early on in my blogging “career” that I wouldn’t participate in any of the awards, for a variety of reasons I won’t go into here.

I think that what you said about Kerry’s Lightscapes Nature blog is amusing, for I’d love to travel the way that both of you do. He’s a great photographer, and a very nice guy as well.

  2. What a great idea. I love that your challenge requires people to share and comment on two other blogs. Encouraging a pay it forward approach is a wonderful way to keep showcasing all the good work being done by other bloggers. Thanks, Emily!

  3. Congratulations my dear! You are truly amazing. Your passion, fun nature, kindness, creativity, and love of everything is seen within everything you post. Thank you!!

    A special thank you for the honor among all these wonderful people and their blogs. {{Virtual Hug}}

    • You are more than welcome Rebecca! Because of you and other bloggers like you we are growing a strong and supportive community that thrives on creativity and sharing. I think we’ll be having a great year!

  5. Emily – You deserve all the recognition you can muster. You have a great looking blog with terrific content. Btw, it’s Tom Palladio vice Tom Palladin. I’ll leave the latter family name to the late Richard Boone of the hit TV series, Have Gun WIll Travel…”And a man called Palladin.”

  6. Ohhhhhh! Look how sweet you are! How wonderful. Thank you, lady!!

And the CBBH Photo Challenge? LOVVVVVES! What a wonderful concept! Wanna do, wanna do! It will keep my creative juices flowing through my…you know…WORK, hahaha! 🙂

  7. Wow thanks so much for thinking of me Emily! I’m honored! Keep up the great work on your blog. You deserve all the recognition you receive.
