If you are like me, than perhaps you are busy in the kitchen, preparing a wonderful feast for family and friends for a day of Thanksgiving.
Back in 1621, I’m sure the last thing on the minds of Pilgrims and Indians alike is what America would look like today. Although they had the right idea, as their celebration lasted three days.Β To share in the autumn harvest, a quick stop by a roadside market near Sperryville, Virginia, and Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park provided fresh apples, apple cider and apple butter to share on the table.
So I’m off to start preparing the turkey for its roasting tomorrow.Β May everyone have a lovely evening and Happy Thanksgiving! Bella

Loving your photos – Have a Great Thanksgiving – Be Blessed!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Renee ! Hope you had a wonderful day today and had a lovely time with loved ones. Good luck shopping, if you’re not out already. π
Love your pics, Emily. Have a great Thanksgiving. there’s another star for you on my blog. π Congrats.
You are so awesome ! Thank you so very much for the star and love how you “share the wealth.”
There’s more than enough to go round. π
Looks delicious – nothing quite like fresh produce. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you so much ! It was hard not to buy out the store with all the wonderful jellies, jams and fruit butters. And the variety of apples were just wonderful. Thanks for the kind wishes.
I can see that pumpkins are cheaper than in Denmark… π
Lovely shots… π
That is interesting Drake. Are they able to grow them well in Denmark? The ones here are used mostly for decoration. Thank you so much for your kind compliment.
Pumkins grow very well in Denmark, both those for food and those for decoration… π
Love the roadside markets best!
Beautiful vivid colours in the pictures!
I have a baking explosion going on here for 2 days too. I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!!
Oh I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching you creating baked masterpieces ! I hope you were able to capture some shots of them, so that we can enjoy them vicariously through you. Hope you had a fabulous day!
Locally made and sold food looks nice and taste fabulous. Very nice fotos, Emily. Have a nice thanksgiving. We don’t do that around here, but heard about it of course.
Hi Bente ! Either way, I hope today was a special day for you. Now the really crazy American holiday of SHOPPING is in order, starting now in the evening of Thanksgiving day.
Here, there is becoming more of an emphasis of shopping locally made produce, etc and it really does make such a difference. My fresh turkey from the Amish people was amazing!
I love these pictures. It makes me think Thanksgiving should take 3 days.
I think it should to..I made sure I made plenty extra so it would be so. Happy Tday and hope it was grand.
Happy Thanksgiving Emily! I can somehow see a warm wholesome gathering around the table laden with your labour of love. Enjoy. Cherish. Love. Laugh. And hugs from me, Sharon
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Sharon ! Alas, this year was a quiet one with just hubby and me, although that didn’t stop me from cooking the whole feast. I’m fighting a bug, so it was good not to have to entertain. You should have seen previous years though..wow ! Fine china, crystal glasses, linen napkins, champagne and a four-course meal. π Thank you so much for such loving words. Emilyl
Wow – I can imagine how beautifully laid out the whole setting and the feasting that took place! You get well soon now ok and be filled with perfect health again! Hugs, Sharon
Happy thanksgiving! Those pumpkins remind me of delicious pumpkin pie! How I wish I could have some right now…(not a high possibility in Egypt I think!) π
Hi Shelley ! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. I feel your pain..perhaps I should ship you a few cans of pureed pumpkin!
Haha…I’m afraid you’d have to ship me an totally baked pumpkin pie with whipped cream! I’m not much of a baker! π
Gorgeous colourful shots! Happy thanksgiving π
Thank you so much ! Hope you were able to celebrate the day in your own way.
