Weekly Photo Challenge: Big

Huge boulders are found at the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman. A total marvel in themselves, understanding that their weight can be up to 70 tons makes you wonder how the Incas moved them. The quarry where they came from named Sisicancha is over 3 kilometers away!

Placed perfectly within the wall, not a blade of grass can enter between them. It is one of those world mysteries as to how the Incas were able to move such large and heavy stones. Let alone to set them so Β perfectly within the fortress wall.

  1. I saw these ruins on the show “Ancient Aliens” on the History Channel. I remember being impressed by how tightly they fit together – it must have been amazing to see them in person!
