As a photographer, we love to share our images and there are many places on the internet where we can do so. There are several reasons why we want to add a logo. First is to help identify our work. The second is to deter people from stealing your images.
With that being said. Understand this – if you put your images on the internet, it can and will be stolen. No matter what you try do to protect your images. Resizing, logos, right click protect. These images can still be grabbed. Logos removed, images resized and printable, and hacked through right-click protect.
So know that this will happen and you can do your best so minimize the loss. After speaking with a good number of long-term professionals, they have all mentioned a significant drop in the level of image purchases due to the digital age and increasing competition.
So let’s go with the first reason of adding a logo to your images. “Having an eye-catching logo helps to identify your work.”
There is a new trend with a creative writing logo that has been developed by a company called PhotoLogo. PhotoLogo has done a good job promoting their services through Facebook, and each signature is personally designed per customer. I’m seeing several of my photographer friends chose to have their logo design by them, and they are attractive and simple.
When I received mine, the font was thin and the logo resolution wasn’t high enough. I emailed the company and they quickly corrected my issued and provided me two PNG (clear backgrounds) logos. One in white, the other in black.
Using Lightroom, I add the logo for exporting and have them placed in each corner, depending on what works best for the image.
At this time, PhotoLogo is offering a promotion of $39.99 for a logo design. You enter in your information, pay and within two days you’ll receive your logo links via email.
If you’re looking for a new logo you might want to give them a try.

I designed my own logo base on how I sign my initials. I like to be discreet about it and not interfere with the image. Yours is nice.
Thanks Sherry. It certainly is a fine balance isn’t it?
I don’t like to detract from the image. If someone’s steals it there’s copyright.
Love this new logo! Very classy.

Thank you so very much my dear friend and mentor.
It sounds like a great idea. It must be heartbreaking to have your work stolen, no matter what it is. I love your signature logo. Good luck! 👍
It’s tough for any photographer but it is the nature of the beast. You can see in your wordpress stats images people have opened up and you can pretty much assume they’ve been downloaded.
I didn’t know you could do that!
Hey Emily, I used Photologo too for a new look this year! I really like it 🙂 Just wish I could work out a way to place it in an action to batch edit in PS! Love the image 🙂 Very different to what I usually see from you!
Wonderful to hear, and thank you so much. I love life..so whatever presents itself, I’ll shoot it. 🙂 Thanks Sarah.
I’m so like you Emily!! There’s beauty all around us 😀
Very nice logo. Might have to try this group!
Yes, it’s certainly worth it or maybe a graphic designer friend can help.
