The pre-historic caves are in Altamira, Asturias, a bit further north west. You have to book 3 years in advance. Fancy that: I don’t know what I’ll be doing tomorrow, never mind in 3 years’ time!!!
But Peter and I did say it looks a bit like the Great Canyon and would be perfect for westerns!
I actually have a Hollywood friend that was in those spaghetti westerns in the day. He spent time in Spain during the shoots. Pretty cool right?
Indeed! I know the area of Almería in south east Spain was used regularly for westerns, but this area is very desert-like. We are literally in an oasis in the middle of a desert and loving every minute. 💜

What gorgeous shots. Over here down under it’s cold, cold cold!
Well, “up” here in tyhe Texas Hill Country it’s hot, of course, but not too bad. In the upper 90s. Not too humid. That makes it bearable. It good to be farther away from the Gulf Coast, and at about 1900 feet. Usually it’s 5 to 10 degrees cooler here than in Karnes City, where we used to live. And there it was much more humid, too.
Stay cool yourself,

I feel so sorry for late nesting BB. The pair here I think held off on their third nest, as the heat and humidity here in central VA was brutal during July and is not much better so far this month. Not sure what happened to the first 6 from nest one and two, as after about three weeks, they vanished…
I was speaking with a friend and they said the same thing. When our BB’s fledge, they disappear. Guess that what a lot of BB’s do. These did really well and looked plenty healthy before they left the nest.
Very hot here too. We’re in an oasis in the middle of the desert in Aragón, North East Spain. Feeling Hot hot hot!
Oh my Fatima. I can only imagine how hot you are. Is that the area they filmed Game of Thrones?
I think that was Granada, as I think I recognised The Alambrada Palace on the show. This is north east of Spain, just to the west of Catalunya.
Oh..ok..then caves with caveman paintings then?

I must admit, I don’t envy you Miriam. Even though it’s hot, I’m having fun. A lot less laundry too.
Too true, I’m constantly washing. And I love the warmth, I’m a summer girl through and through. 🙂
Me too ! Grew up in Florida. Stay warm. HA!
I’ll try!! 🙂
You and me both. What wonderful captures, Emily!
Stay cool my dear Laura and thank you.
I’m stunned! Absolutely fantastic captures!
Stay cool,
Pit
You are truly too kind Pit. Thank you so much Pit. How is Texas? Roasting I’d imagine. 🙂

Parting is such sweet sorrow!
