The Magothy River is an estuary that leads into the Chesapeake Bay on the western side of the bay. Teeming with life, the river offers beautiful views and glimpses into the life of man and nature.
The Baltimore Lighthouse is now privately owned and is now has a non-profit organization for preservation and restoration. One effort was to add cables to discourage birds from landing on the lighthouse and well..pooping on it. Seems this Osprey figured out they were harmless.
Sailors love the river with its protected waters and summer breezes. On Wednesday nights, the Magothy is host to sailboat races which is great fun for residents.
I love the Magothy and the treasures she holds on her waters.

What a wonderful and peaceful place. I love being on the water.
Thank you Miriam. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful bay on the Chesapeake. So much history as well as nature. Thank you.
I love the first picture (fabulous colour and texture) and the osprey made me laugh!
Truly that Osprey was pretty darned smart. I loved that little boat and one day I hope to get out with some nice golden light on it. Thank you Stader Art

Thank you so much Mary. I haven’t been out on the water this year like I should be.
