It’s been a wonderfully, glorious and beautiful pre-spring day today. Heading down to Washington DC for a visit to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park for a Feathered Friends meetup, two Giant Panda Bears were out in the warming sun enjoying a bamboo breakfast.
How could I not stop to enjoy them having breakfast. Needless to say, I got into a little bit of hot water as I was tardy in meeting the small group. Luckily one smart person thought to call me and I asked them to come to the Panda pen to catch this photo op.
The day was fantastic, with all sorts of wonderful things that happened. I’ll just leave you with these cute and cuddly bears for tonight.

Thanks Andy ! It was evidently quite a special thing to have her so close. One guy said he goes every weekend for the past six years and have seen them this close only two other times. Amazing huh?

That was my favorite part. Their discards left on their belly. She would strip the bamboo and chew the sweetest part.

SOOO much character all I could do was laugh and smile. I love it, he looks like a person in a costume…or is he a bear pretending to be a person in a bear costume…? I too love the mess he’s making.
I was going to say that he makes Bamboo look yummy but then I realized he just made my mouth dry out like chewing on a mouth full of sunflower seeds!
