I was looking forward to being able to sleep in this morning a bit. Still being a bit sleep deprived from my road trip last week, I was all snuggled in bed snoozing away.
But someone else in the house had different ideas. This little ‘person’ is my black and white cat named Tuxedo. He came bounding in all cheery like, jumping on my chest purring and kneading away. He meowed Good Morning, and promptly jumped off. Of course, this being the cue that I was supposed to get up and follow him to tend to his needs.
I really shouldn’t complain too much as he used to do this at 4:30 in the morning. Now that it is colder, he’s now sleeping to the late hour of 6:00 a.m., before the dawn and even the birds are awake. Groaning, I flipped over and prayed he wouldn’t return. Usually I go right to sleep, but my mind went to work. There’s a lot to tend to as it’s the holiday season, and countless other demands.
So I gave up trying to go back to sleep and got up to start my day. Tuxedo, of course wanted to immediately go outside. MEOW ! But I need to give the boy credit, as I peered out of the window and saw some brilliant color through the trees.
So…it’s is Tuxedo’s fault that we are interrupting this week’s holiday post theme to bring you this glorious sunrise on the river. After seeing it, I was no longer annoyed with the little kitty. After all, this is what we live for.

Thank you so much Judy. I’m sure Tuxedo reminds me of your Tuxedo. 🙂

Tuxedo is always a welcome interruption in my opinion. Gorgeous day over your side of the world.
It was truly a gorgeous sunrise, and I thanked Tuxedo all day for the wake up call. He is a sweetie, hard to get mad at such a handsome boy that wants to love on you.:-)
Thanks so much Tuxedo, for waking mommy up to catch the gorgeous sunrise. 😀
LOL ! I still chuckle with his cute wakeup call. Maybe I should send him your way so I can share the joy. 🙂
Love your photos and love this post:)
You are so kind! Thank you.
I hope that you gave Tuxedo a special treat for waking you up so that you could capture that incredible sunrise!
You should know me by now. My animals, and wildlife are so friggin spoiled it’s disgusting! Believe me, Tux gets it all, including plenty of catnip. 😉
Stunning shots Emily…what an amazing view
Thank you so much for your kind comment. It is always a joy to share these moments with you.
Awesome. Only need one word. 😋
I love it ! Keep it short keep it simple. 🙂
Stunning! And I am sure it was worth the early wake-up call. I hope you get a lie in tomorrow!
Tomorrow..maybe I can sleep in tomorrow… This mornings sunrise was also glorious, but I missed it a bit.
Great shot of Tux 😊. Our three do exactly the same, though they usually take it in turns.
So you get ganged up on. Two out of three get to sleep in, while the other takes up the wake up call watch. Awesome!
Pretty much……but you’ve got to love them 😊……..well, most of the time!
