The changing colors have been spectacular the past couple of days. Autumn is in its full glory all throughout. Driving along the road, each turn gets a gasp and a WOW with the incredible colors.
Hopefully I haven’t bored you this week with continual autumn images. But I can’t help it. I’m astounded by its beauty and I just have to share each day with you. A visit to the barn was due as it had been a few days since I’ve been to visit Remy Martin.
Darling Remy has been on rest the last two weeks, and has about a month more. She got new shoes last month and the farrier placed a nail too close to the bone. The nail and the shoe has been removed, but a bruise is inside her hoof which takes six weeks to heal.
You know how it is, when you’re not quite sick, but not quite well and you’re supposed to rest. It drives one crazy and all Remy wants to do is go out and gallop. Instead, I decided to bring her out for a photo opportunity on this after the rain, overcast and beautiful day.
So come with me out to the paddocks.
First there is always a quick visit with Macaroni so that I can give him an ear rub.
Getting Remy Martin out of her paddock, I tried to get her to pose in front of a beautiful autumn tree. Of course, the only thing she could think about was eating grass.
Her ‘brother’ – Javalin – kept nickering at her. Hoping that Remy would return his affection. He is such a hopeless romantic. I try to remind him Remy is his sister, but he doesn’t care.
Remy wasn’t that great of a model. She kept running off to better grass. So I pretty much gave up getting that gallery shot of Remy. Javalin however, was a picture perfect model. Don’t know what it is, but my cats are the same way. The girl always runs away when the camera is brought out. The boy loves to pose.
It’s going to be sunny weather this weekend, and then cooler. Autumn will be wrapping up soon and the holidays will be here before we know it. It will be sad when all this brilliant color is gone but it will forever be remembered.
Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend.

Such beautiful pics!!!
Thank you so much ! Hard to go wrong with such beautiful scenery and willing/unwilling subjects.
What beautiful horses! You can never post too many photos of the leaves changing, as it will be a year before we see them again. I’m going “hunting” this weekend, hoping to bag either a merlin or a snipe, yup, I’ve been talked into a snipe hunt. 😉
Hope you find said snipes. Had a Coopers Hawk one day and a Sharp Shinned Hawk yesterday in my yard. They were looking for little song birds to eat. Did I have my camera??? Nope..it was in the car. 😦
I just live horses. The most beautiful animal’s on earth.
I agree with you David. Horses are such noble and kind creatures.
Such majestic animals. I will never bore with your photos 🙂
There are horses next door where I work. I wouldn’t say they are neglected as they are fed, watered and let out to pasture daily… but I don’t think they get any attention. No one ever rides them. There are little horses, notsure if they are ponies or mini horses and a burrow. I’ve been going to the fence since the apples ripened and feeding them. Can they have too many apples? =-O I have no experience with horses, but everyone likes ear scratches!
You are so sweet to go and visit these lovely lawn ornaments. As long as they have a ‘herd’ they should be just fine. Although they do blossom with human interaction. Depending on the horse, too many apples can give them a stomach ache. I limit mine to 2 in a day on occasion. An apple a day is ok. 🙂
What an amazing tree! Is that maple? Hope beautiful Remy Martin will be well to run around freely again soon but I must say her brother is rather dashing too!
One of these days I’ll learn tree varieties. I think it is a maple. Thanks for the well wishes for Remy. Believe me – she’s ready for a gallop.
Fab photos, Emily. 🙂
Thank you so much Sylvia ! Appreciate your kindness and continual support.
Very nice! Glad to see you are enjoying the COLOR!
🙂 It’s been so brilliant that I’m now ready for some monochrome.
🙂
Beautiful Captures:)
Thank you so much Renee ! Hope all is well with you.
Beautiful photos… love that one looking out through the barn doors! 🙂
Oh I really wish that one had come out better. It was such a beautiful scene, but I just didn’t know how to capture it right technically. Perhaps a flash might of helped.
It looks great to me! I know how you feel though… when you have it in your mind how you want it to turn out and it just doesn’t quite end up as you’d imagined? I get very frustrated sometimes but that’s largely due to the fact that I’m still learning my way around my camera! 😉
Beautiful!
