Its rudder runs through the morning grass
In its wake, the dew a sea of tranquility;
Its early gray aura taps at window panes
As to Morse code a waking message;
It challenges the walking sun with playful scorn
Softly, all living creatures come to life;
The hues on nature’s landscape unfold
Brush-stroked by a master’s hand;
Nightlights are extinguished one-by-one
As the sun attempts to peer through the glass;
It creates hidden shadows for the nocturnal
To the meek-eyed, a bargaining plea;
Advancing, it covers the streams and the lakes
As to see its own-misted reflection;
Its content to be obscurely good
As it lofts upon the mountains;
The morning breeze blows a gentle wind as to challenge
Its soft touch dissipates the mourning mist – their differences reconciled.

So very beautiful and lovely words too
You are so very kind. It was an exceptional mist, and couldn’t believe the poem I discovered for it.
Beautiful photos, Emily. They illustrate this poem so well. 🙂
It should be a card or poster right?? 🙂
I love how you captured the “mistiness” of the mist. 🙂 Beautiful combination of words and images.
Oh how I wish you could have experienced this in person. The mist was so magical. Thank you so much for your kind comment.
WOW! those pictures are gorgeous! such a beautiful day!
You are awesome Evi. Thank you so much for such an enthusiastic response.
Misty mornings are so photogenic!
You’re right Jerry ! If I had my cup of coffee with me, what I should have done is taken the boat out for more captures. It was special.
beautiful set Emily…hard to get up early but certainly worth it for those shots
It is so true ! I have gotten up before dawn more this year than I have my whole entire life ! But the pics are worth it.
These are breath taking! I could wake up to this view forever! 🙂
Can you imagine? The sad thing is that one gets accustomed to it and forgets quickly how special it is.
Oh Mary, this mist would have inspired you so much.
The best thing about walking my dog early in the morning before I go to work it the mist coming from the lake behind our house. It just adds a new dimension to the landscape. Beautiful images yet again!
That sounds so glorious!
