It was a beautiful dawn rising over Northeast Harbor, with the boats floating in the gentle water. The quaint marina glowing in the morning light. Some discovered sea urchins were laid were all could enjoy while passing by.
The highlight of the morning was a boulder scramble around The Tarn. Come with me and bound across the granite rocks with me like Mountain Goats.
All images captured with iPhone 4s. Edited in Lightroom 5.0 and some with Nik Color Efex Pro.

I’ve always found that anything worth achieving will always have obstacles in the way and you’ve got to have that drive and determination to overcome those obstacles on route to whatever it is that you want to accomplish.

I really like these photos. Good job!
Thank you so much Pat. Great to see you and greetings from Maine.
Goose bump pictures, beautiful, you took me there, thank you for sharing!
Not bad for an iPhone right? I must admit, I was surprised how well these turned out. Even with my old case over the lens.
Now I’m even more impressed!!
Tremendous shots again Emily of this wonderful area!
Can you tell I’m loving my vacation. Would you believe it’s 100 degree heat index in Maryland right now? So glad I left town. 🙂
Beautiful photographs! Love the Chuck Norris quote and that first pic I especially LOVE… really beautiful! 🙂
You are so kind. Thank you so very much. I’ve been quite pleased with the iPhone photos from that day.
Gorgeous! The first two images look like postcards.
Thank you so much, you are wonderful. Appreciate your thoughts on these images, you’ve given me an idea. 🙂
Sorry if I held you up, I’m not much of a bounder. And the only similarity I share with mountain goats is in the looks department. 😉
Your wonderful photos are forcing me to consider a road trip this weekend.
I’m not sure who was slower, you or me that kept stopping to look for birds and gasping at the beauty of the trail.
Excellent shots!!!
Thanks Rexlin!
Gorgeous shots!
Appreciate your enthusiasm. You would love it here, beautiful flowers and incredible evergreen forests.
Lovely photos, Emily. Those sea urchins are really beautiful specimens. The rocks look quite impressive, but I’d do my best to bound like a mountain goat. 🙂
LOL ! You and me both, bounding like mountain goats. I can see it now. I agree, those sea urchins were pretty awesome.
Loving your captures – need to escape OUTDOORS now – Happy Weekend:)
Yes you do Renee! Hope you’re out right now. 🙂
Okay Emily the first photograph is award winning, fabulous light and drama – just a superb shot. Of course the hiking trails are fantastic as well, because they show Maine in it’s beautiful dressing.
The fact that you said that on the sunrise image is amazing. It’s a crappy iPhone image that I think I processed a little funny. Maine is so amazing, it’s hard not to capture an incredible scene.
Sometimes it’s the ones where there isn’t a lot of fuss, you it is captured because of the raw beauty of the scene – yes, I love this image.
Wonerful!
Thank you so much!
Just beautiful…. What a gorgeous place, WOW!!
Wish you could have been there, the boulder scramble was so much fun! Skipping along the shore.
Lovely photos Emily, I love the photos of the Marina and the sea urchins, they are great.
Thanks Leanne and imagine all with a little iPhone. I’ve been using it quite a bit on this trip. Even with my waterproof old case it’s been doing a great job with oics
Soooo beautiful…I’m longing for a vacation but can’t take one, so I’ll just have to dream of beautiful places like this! 🙂
Oh Sheryl, I truly hope you can at least do a staycation. Those are tremendous fun as well. Sometimes the best discoveries are close to home.
