Ho Humm, here I am sitting on the Parrot Tree. Not much to do other than to sit and look pretty. Surely there is something I can do to break the boredom. Don’t mind me…I’m going to sneak over to bother the boys.
They are such handsome boys. There they are in their blue resplendor. Shining so brightly in the sun. Maybe I can photo bomb them.
Even better ! Let’s see if I can get them to fight with each other as to who gets to win my affections.
Hey that was kind of fun. I managed to break up the boy’s club. Now to go and flirt with the winner.
Oops !!! That didn’t work out quite like I thought it would. Oh well, it was at least entertaining for a bit.

Sounds like a woman I dated for a short time, never the less, I like the photos!
LOL ! That is funny ! I can see it now “I’m not touching you…”
I enjoyed your zoo photos, especially the big cat.
Isn’t that Jaguar awesome? I’ve never seen one before.
Ordinary lives of extraordinary creatures, lovely images…
It really is funny to watch animals in action. The monkeys were even funnier but I couldn’t shoot them without the cage getting in the way. 😦
Ohhh! The colors!
Thank you so much Bjorn. Aren’t they incredible?
Sure are..
Fabulous shots, Emily. I so enjoyed these. 🙂
You are so sweet ! Thank you so much and so happy you liked these.
Amazing birds, such beautiful colors – very well captured… 🙂
Aren’t you just a little jealous being a black duck? 😉
superb set…what amazing colours they have
I’d imagine you don’t see these too often in your area. They are so striking. Thank you so much.
Gorgeous photos.
Thank you so much!
I learned something new about parrots when at the CA Academy of Sciences – parrots are sensitive to flashes of light – never knew that and will keep that in mind when photographing these colorful beauties (no flash on camera). Beautiful Captures – love watching parrots do their thing and interact with one another:) Happy Monday!
That is really interesting. Glad to know this, although I’m too lazy to mess with a flash unit. Happy Monday back at ya.
Ohh one bent my ring when I was small, their beaks are so strong. >_< Gorgeous animals though!
Owwww, bet you hate them now. 🙂
These images are wonderful, Emily, I LOVE your photos, the way you captured their colors is outstanding!
I’m interested really about what you see. I went onto my desktop and find my photos a bit dark. What do you think?
I love the richness of your colors. I go thru’ a similar thing – wondering at times whether I’ll lose the richness if I lighten/brighten. I LOVED your parrots, and they didn’t seem dark at all to me, Emily. But you are the expert, I just play with the camera for my therapy, and for sharing the chapeaux… 🙂
It is my pleasure – I think it all depends on the person’s computer screen. Not all of us have MAC’s. 🙂 Thank you so much for the honest feedback.
No Mac here, either, and I agree – am forever telling my custom hat customers that I must have swatches as computer monitors vary greatly indeed…
your opening image and closing image are really special!
Thank you so much Z – if you click on the Jaguar, it’ll take you to my smugmug portfolio of more zoo animals from that day. I had a few too many and couldn’t post them all here.
i love visiting the zoos! i look forward to visiting your other images.. i pondered that option last night, but it’s very late at night when the internet gets fast enough to explore… or comment! right now the reply will spin for half a minute before it decides to go to you – or not!
Oh you poor thing..remember the days of dial up?
I clicked on the tab for the post and I was blown away by the colour, so beautiful. The parrots are wonderful.
I’m so excited that you clicked through – so different from what you capture. You are so kind to take the time to look, especially with how busy you are. 🙂
