When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark,
you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off.
You sit still and trust the engineer.

LOVE this image, Emily, I’ve been pinning doors and windows all day on Pinterest. Hmmm…. that fascination with doors and pathways continues!
That’s is awesome. I also love doors and windows too. I captured quite a bit in southern France, but haven’t really focused on them here. I really should. 🙂
I love the soft vintage processing and how well the curve of the tunnel is captured.
Thank you so much Mike ! I discovered that filter and loved the old postcard look. I couldn’t resist. 🙂
Dear Corrie Ten Boom – what a story! Your photo brings a reality to the quote…
Another one I considered is “The light at the other end of the tunnel is…a train!” 🙂
Reblogged this on missydevoursdelishreads and commented:
Lovely heartfelt words!
Thank you so much for sharing this with your readers.
I love the vintage look of your photo and the sentiment is quite perfect.
Hi Charlie ! How are you ?? Funny, I was just thinking of you the other day. I hope all is well with you. 🙂 Thank you for your kind comment.
I love the viaduct, and I actually like the look that you gave the photo. I guess old things are supposed to look old. (I’ll have to remember that next time I look in a mirror)
LOL !! Now come on..you’re not much older than me. It’s all in how you think. 🙂
Well then, it must be that my mirrors think old, and that they’re lying to me when they show my hair grey and beard white.
Wonderful photo and quote too… 🙂
Thank you so much Drake ! Appreciate your kindness.
Love this – perfect match of image and words! Your treatment of the photo is awesome.
I’m thrilled that you liked this one. I wasn’t sure what people would think of it. Thank you Sheryl
Beautiful in B&W, especially the angle – expansive view from under the overpass.
I love this viaduct. I could photograph it every day. One time I’ll see if I can get up on the top of it. Now that would be fun.
Terrific! Looks like an old time exhibit or cabinet card.
Thanks Phil ! I also liked that old timey postcard effect too. 🙂
Gorgeous effect and composition… Love this one! Hope all’s well with you. 🙂
Thank you so much my dear. All is going great, summer is always super busy and I just play too much. 🙂
Love the quote and the old vintage look… it could be something out of ‘The Railway Children’! 🙂
I haven’t heard of “The Railway Children.” I definitely will look that up as just the title sounds very interesting. This area has so much railroad history because of the B&O railroad line. Thank you so much for your kind comment.
‘The Railway Children’ is an old film I remember from my childhood, you should look it up and watch it… it’s a great film for a chilled out, lazy Sunday afternoon, especially when it’s raining and you want to snuggle up inside! 🙂
Oh..interesting. Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely try to find it. Sounds like a great vacation movie too.
Yes it would be! But then I like the film… you might not! Let me know what you think, if you get round to it 🙂
