Wandering down the lane, heading towards the end of the road. Where at the end the bridge to cross the river has been closed. There is nowhere else to go.
Along the lane, bright blue skies and brilliant green fields paint the landscape.
Tucked back by the wheat field stands an old but well preserved and used barn.
And a Tobacco Farm sat along the daisies, enjoying the sun.
Thankful that this is a quiet country lane. This little turtle decided to take a slow walk across the road. Of course I had to stop to not only capture him, but to help him over to the other side. I’m sure you can vision me lying in the middle of the road to capture this.
Upon arrival to the barn, I couldn’t help but notice The Judge. Waiting for the show to begin.
Life is one big road with lots of signs.
So when you riding through the ruts,
don’t complicate your mind.
Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy.
Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality.
Wake Up and Live!

These are my most favourite photos! The sky and grain fields seem to go on forever!
Thank you so much Rebecca. I’ve been watching those two fields since January. Waiting for the right moment to capture the scene. Finally got the green field I was hoping for. It only took 6 months. π
Worth the wait!!!
Wonderful photos! I love the barn shots with the wheat field and then the close up of the wheat with the barn in the distance… great! I love the quotes you put at the end of your posts too! π
Thank you so very much. I must admit, I was excited with glee upon the discovery of the barn on the wheat field. What a find. Appreciate that you like the quotes, means a lot to hear what you think of these posts.
Great Captures – loving the turtle! Have a Great Day:)
Thanks Renee!
Superb captures Emily! #2 gorgeous green field and blue sky w/a wisp of clouds caught my attention, but would you look at the depth and texture of those trees on the upper left – whoa they are perfect! Wheat and barn images are fabulous – beautiful red barn popping in the scene, you got this one perfectly. Loving your day out – 24 hours later you’re back!
Couldn’t help but laugh with Mr. Turtle! You’ll never guess last night we had one get himself stuck in our back fence – after some doing, I was able to get him free and like you, picked him up and ran with him to the pond on the otherside of the street from our house. As soon as he smelt the pond, his legs were waving like mad, couldn’t believe how fast he ran toward the pond when I let him down.
You always are so sweet and so descriptive in your comments Mary. They mean so much to me. Believe it or not, this only took 1/2 hour out of my day. I got so lucky on that closed road.
Now your turtle story is far funnier than mine. I can just see him scrambling around in your hand. “The Pond !! The Pond !! “. From one turtle saver to another. Thank you. π
“Yeah wake up and live” – maybe “the judge” thought or knew that happy days are here Emily’s back… ‘smile’
Wonderful you found a barn for us, who adores barns… ‘hahaha’
LOL ! You are too sweet Drake. Of course I had to find some barns for you. I’m determined to get several each month so that I can make a calendar for you. π
Beautiful! I especially love the images of the barns.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. So happy you enjoyed these barns. I have a weakness for them.
Wonderful!
Thank you so very much. π

This is stunning, it literally relaxes my eyes
From a fantastic photographer like you, this means so much. Thanks Ali.
Especially love that close up of the wheat! How beautiful!
Thank you so much Sheryl. The funny thing is, I’ve lived in Maryland for 12 years and never realized they grew wheat here. Now I see it all sort of places.
Gorgeous photos all, but “The Judge” is my favorite!
Thanks Jerry ! Just moments before there were three crows on the judge’s stand. Two flew off. Now that would have been a shot. π
I like the solo one, unless each of the three had been perched in front of each of the chairs.
What an endearing pictures. Yup, I can just imagine you “down to zero”. The pictures of the greens and wheat makes me want to run on the field and sing “the hills are alive…. la la la”. You sure know how bring the pictures jump out to life, Emily. Thank you.
As soon as you said that, I immediately felt the same way. The hills are alive. Awesome Perpetua. You’ve put a smile on my face.

when you’re smiling, when you’re smiling
the whole world smiles with you

There is always a barn! Good on you for picking up the turtle. I am always picking up snails and placing them on grass! π
But of course darling. What would a country lane be without a barn? Love it that we like to save these little critters.
Well, I was going to pass on commenting, then Mr. Marley comes along. He, Willie Nelson, Stevie Nicks and Linda Ronstadt’s Songs of My Father is all the music I would ever need.
LOL ! You are too funny Robert. Aren’t you in England yet? Got to love Bob Marley. π
The 25th, waiting, waiting, waiting to go.
