As unique as riding on horseback through the Luberon mountains in Provence, France. To experience the ochre cliffs and sand dunes of the Colorado Provencal outside of Rustrel, France.
A truly special and once-in-a-lifetime experience.

you have the most awesome experiences. you are my hero, ha!!!
Oh how I wish I could be there again equitrekking.
Emily – Great shot of horse-n-rider moving up that colorful dune. Who’s the rider? And, what were you doing there in France? Looking for vin on horseback?
It was another traveler in the group that we were riding with. I went with two girlfriends to do an inn-to-inn trail ride in Provence. It was the second time I went there for horse back riding. We loved the boxed rose wine. No hangover! Have you ever tried the Panache beer? Oh how I wish I could find it here.
Unique indeed Emily! Don’t remember seeing a horse when we were in Gordes and Roussillon!
The horses came from a riding company in Lauris, and we rode into Rustrel//Rousillon. Overnight we left the horses in a grove a trees outside of town.
I love the photo, thanks for reminding me what blue sky looks like.
How I would love to send you a deep blue sky so that you can warm your skin under the bright sun.
Look at that dunes!
Aren’t they fabulous? They used the dirt to create paint and stains at the turn of the century.
The horse make it look easy… 😉
Very well captured… 🙂
Their horses were amazingly strong and knew their trail job so well Drake. They would work 5 – 6 hours a day climbing up and down mountains on rocky terrain. Mine was so accustomed to his job I didn’t even have to hold the reins and tell him what to do. It was so fun!
Giddity up! 🙂 🙂
Yee Haw Maggie!
That horse knows his stuff – looking at his body posture, he’s strutting his stuff. Great photograph!
You certainly know what you’re looking at Mary. After that day, the rider left the group and this horse followed the rest of us completely untied for two days ! It was amazing.
Was an awesome shot because of the human-animal connection you captured. Very cool.
You know how to live Emily! The horse is incredible! And those dunes.., wow! Excellent photo 🙂
Most definitely unique!!
LOL ! I believe the adventure spirit came from my ancestors. If I could, I’d be out exploring the world all the time.
Great shot!!!
Thanks Rexlin – ready to ride?
🙂 yes…
I may be going to France in the future with my cousin, a horse woman like myself, so this will be a must to do!
Absolutely ! Cap Rando in Lauris, France offers a number of inn-to-inn rides which are just fantastic!
A wonderful photo with strong colours, and I am sure the ride must have been great too.
The ride was incredible Bente. It was through the medieval “Perched Villages” of the Luberon mountains in Provence. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
Wow Emily! Amazing!
I know you would just love to visit here Phil. Although there aren’t any gators.
Great photo! Love the colors and composition, and, of course, since the horse is a pinto it’s even better!
LOL ! Didn’t know you were a pinto fan. I love them also. Always such a reliable creature. Not too bad for a little point & shoot.
Love the vibrant colors in this photo. Nicely done.
Thanks Alison, I truly appreciate your kind comments.
