Today has been a busy day packing up the condo but I wanted to start the morning right. Setting the alarm before dawn I got up and grabbing my camera excitedly took the short walkway to the beach. Only to be rudely surprised by a chain on the gate to the steps and crime scene tape in the stairs.
The crime? Mother Nature in her fury in Hurricane Sandy stole my beach from me. The rough surf crashing along the cement wall where there was once sand. I was on this beach just in September. How dare she take it away from me!
I guess I’ll have to drive somewhere tomorrow morning to find where the sand is.

Bummer – Beautiful Capture though! Happy Thursday – here’s to finding the beach and sand to sink your toes in:)
It truly is..the weather was so windy that even when I did find a beach it was horrible to be on, so I promptly left. Oh well, it was a working trip anyway.
I don’t know where you can find the sand, but I knows that these waves are beautiful… 🙂
The waves were super strong because the winds were blowing hard non-stop. The surfers were out in full force.
Thank you for sharing a pictures, very a big waves.
Let’s hope you don’t see anything bigger than these on your sail around the world.
I hope you will find your beach, Emily. Anyway you are lucky to have a beach around, sand or not.. Oh, I would prefer sand, absolutely.
I must admit Bente. If I had the choice of all your snow, or this windy strong ocean, I’d take the ocean every time. Hope you’re doing well!
In Florida???
Yep until Saturday.
Well, at least you have a beautiful wavy picture 😀
LOL ! Yes I do!
We don’t have hurricanes here in Michigan, but I’ve seen the beach “move” 30 feet in 24 hours just from the windstorms we do get from time to time. I hope your beach returns!
It was super windy so I’m sure that didn’t help things. That’s amazing that you see that type of beach change in such a short period of time.
That would be such an odd realization. I’ve wondered about the Jersey shore. I grew up (teenage years) along the Asbury Park, Sandy Hook, Atlantic Highlands beaches in New Jersey and know that much of it was destroyed by Hurrican Sandy. I wonder what it looks like? It would be strange to visit and not find it there.
Wow, I can only imagine how different the Jershey Shore must look at this time. A shadow of times past.
What a beautiful picture though!! Love the waves 🙂
The waves were pretty awesome Judy. Wish I was a surfer!
Did you find the sand? Would swap our grey, lifeless inland location anyway right now.
How dare it take your sand, I hope you found where it went. I don’t think I have heard of that happening before. How strange.
