Spirit of the Wolf,
You who wanders the wild lands,
You who stalks in silent shadows,
You who runs and leaps
between the moss-covered trees,
lend me your primal strength,
and the wisdom of your glowing eyes.
Teach me to relentlessly track my desires.
And to stand in defense of those I love.
Show me the hidden paths and the moonlit fields.
Fierce Spirit,
Walk with me in my solitude
Howl with me in my joy
and
Guard me as I move through this world.
That is so cool
Thank you!
Your welcome

There is so much that makes our world special. I love your fusion of images and prose, such a wonderful treat.
Such a kind and wonderful comment Charlie. I can’t thank you enough for this heartfelt response. Thank you!!
Beautiful verse. I highly recommend Kingsolver’s “Prodigal Summer”, based on this post! 💜
Oh wow, that looks like an amazing book. Thank you so much for the recommend Laura. I’ll definitely check it out.
Awesome!! Loved your poem. You’ll love that book, Bella. 💜
Oh I can’t take credit for the wolf prayer. That’s a Native American prayer. And so wonderful. Thanks Laura.
Oh I didn’t know. Thx for clearing that up. It is beautiful. Have a nice night!
Absolutely beautiful. The way the poem flows, the images, it’s nice:)
Thank you so much. Thrilled that you enjoyed this post.
OH wow. Where did you see a wolf? Probably not around NapTown, I’m guessing. 🙂
This lovely is at the National Zoo on Connecticut Ave – DC. He’s handsome isn’t he?
This is some really amazing photography! And I really love the poem you have with it. It ties really well with the emotions the photos give with you. Says something about the relationship people have with wolves!
The wolf is absolutely gorgeous too.
You are so very kind Kali, truly the wildlife I see inspires me to find a deeper meaning in life. Thank you.
Beautiful, all of it!
Thank you so much Tiny. Have a lovely week.
Such beautiful animals they are. It saddens me we force them into smaller areas and cause them to seek farm animals and thus get a bad rap for it.
This one looks like you can just go up and pet it. .. You go first. .. 😉
Now come on Ilex, you know if you dare me..I’ll most likely do it ! I’d totally go and pet this cute little dog. 😉
It’s my Totem…. : totemwood.wordpress.com
This is wonderful! So happy to share Laurent.
Wonderful combination of beautiful images and beautiful words.
Thank you so much Carolyn. It’s amazing how the more I search for poetry, etc. to match my nature pics, the more I discover. Sounds like a book is in order. 🙂
A book would be a great idea. Your photos are outstanding, and you have a knack for matching poems to pictures.
I looked into it Carolyn, and I’ll have to find out when the poems I’ve found were printed/written. Hate to break any copyright laws.
Hello, saw your post about having photo classes/tours in your area, sounds great let me know when you get something out together. live in pgh, so not a long ride for wknd or cple day program Thanks ray
Absolutely Ray, I’d be more than happy to share. Is there a subject you prefer to photograph? There is a Bald Eagle workshop at Conowingo Dam scheduled for November 22nd, and there are plans for two more in the fall. One in September at Ladew Gardens, and one in October for Birds of Prey.
Here is the link for the Bald Eagles workshop: http://capitalphotographycenter.com/classes/quantity/0f93b939f31b786bc108ca37317e7377e8798302/11071
Only 6 spaces left.
The Birds of Prey will be October 11th, most likely at Huntley Meadows. Stay tuned on the class page for registration.
I’ll be working on the description for Ladew Gardens today, so it should be posted by the end of the week.
In the meantime, also feel free to join the Feathered Friends meetup group for more informal gatherings.
Gorgeous captures of this magnificent animal, Emily. Your words are so descriptive and moving. Almost like a prayer.
Indeed this is actually a native american prayer. Couldn’t figure out who wrote it though. Thanks Sylvia and hope all is well with you.
Beautiful poem and photos! Reblogged on Wolf Is My Soul.
I hope I did not violate your copyright? If so, please let me know and I’ll use the reblog by WordPress instead. You have a new follower in me!
That is just fine Telania, and I appreciate you sharing this with your readers. Thanks for asking.
