The Eurasian Eagle Owl is native to Europe and Asia, but not found in North America. Several do exist in America in exhibits, allowing those that can’t travel to foreign lands to set eyes on them.
Considered one of the largest owls in the world, their pumpkin colored eyes are captivating.
In the Netherlands, there is one that just loves to land on people’s heads. Now that’s taking bird watching quite personal.
Great shots Bella, I have always wanted to get some shots of an owl, I will have two exhibits next month that will have birds of prey hope to get some shots then.
How exciting is this Jim? You’re going to have so much fun at your exhibits. It’s hard not to take 1,000 shots in quick form. Can’t wait to see what you’re able to capture.
Jeepers creepers, where’d you get those peepers? 👀 Beautiful bird. Love the video, kinda odd behavior.
I thought it was hilarious – and did you hear it Hoot? Awesome stuff!
Yeah…I”m not too sure I want the owl to land on my head 😛 lol
Can you imagine it’s poop? I think it would be great fun – running around with an owl on my head. Like I came from Hogwarts. 🙂
Don’t forget to run with a wand in hand if that’s your plan lol! 😉
Hey, don’t forget, I could have gotten a wand at Universal Studios that was guaranteed to be magical. 😉
True that! I remember! 😀
I remember the first time I saw one was as a small child in a bird park. I’m sure that it was as big as me! Awesome bird!
Wow, and as a child I bet you were terrified. An owl nearly as large as you. You’re so lucky to have been able to see one of these. Thanks David.
