Today was a perfect Indian Summer day, with the autumn leaves still coloring the landscape. With a warmer day, a trip up to Conowingo Dam was due with a friend. It is her birthday week and part of the outing was to begin with the Bald Eagles that stay at the dam.
While there were about 25 bald eagles, and the action was a little quiet, fishing was still happening. Along with some nice fly by’s and some dive bombing the eagles entertained us well.
I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time with them this next month to see if I can come away with that ‘gallery’ shot.Β It was indeed a very good day.

You’re absolutely right Mark. But I tell you, after chasing warblers for a while, a large target like an eagle is super easy!
Wow! It’s my turn to be jealous again, so many great shots of eagles!
Oh you would love it so much at the dam. A bunch of guys hang out at the dam with their huge lenses. You’d fit right in!

A friend of mine showed me his pics of the eagles in front of the autumn color. I knew I wanted some too, so I’m so happy that I got there when there was still color. Thanks Beth.
