If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.

Lovely image and verse!!
So happy that you enjoyed this post. Thank you so much.
Fantastic shot!
Thank you so much Jayde. Appreciate your kind words.
How amazing is that photo? Fantastic! It just brings up a whole story in my mind … thanks you! 🙂
Now that is a story I would like to hear. A lucky shot..I swear it. 🙂
LOL … I have to say, yes, that’s a very, very lucky shot! I’m always impressed by how a good photographer can take such … amazing photos that convey emotions, a story … I am in awe!!! 🙂
Great shot! 🙂
Thank you so very much. Hope your ponies are doing well this summer. Such a drought it’s been.
At first I did an oooh aaah at the great capture, but it’s more than than – for the first time I’m seeing just how strong and prehensile those huge talons are – what a weapon and tool the bird has in its feet. Yes, great shot 🙂
You’re absolutely right about their talons. I can’t even imagine how much they hurt when they grab something, let alone the strength they have. Thank you so very much – ooh ahh..that’s awesome !! Makes me smile.
Incredible image and witty comment, lovely, what lens did you use!! So let’s get on with the big frogs of the day then?! 🙂
All of my bird shots are taken with the Canon 500mm L lens. I added a newly acquired Canon 1.4x extender, giving me 700mm reach. Crazy huh?
Makes for amazing close-ups, though?!
The quote’s a bit strange, but it’s Twain after all. The photo is awesome!
Hubby had the same reaction as you. He didn’t quite get it about eating the bigger one first. I totally get it. Thanks Jerry. 🙂
Brilliant capture! And the words go so well with the image. Bravo!
You are truly too kind. Thank you so much and it makes my day you enjoyed this so much.
Great capture! Quote… hmmm. Sounds like drunk talk =)
Thank you so much ! Got to love Mark Twain..he probably was drunk at the time. Although it seems like such a Louisiana thing to say.
There goes my meal.
You do make me laugh. Somehow I don’t think you want a half-eaten stale raw fish. 🙂
I mean the bird, not the fish. 😆
Possibly the best uniquely American author, is Mr. Clemens. It’s the perfect quote Emily.
He truly is so unique and really gets to the heart of soul of Americana. Thanks Robert.
Great photo Emily, great catch, for both of you.
Thank you so very much Leanne!
