How is it possible that such a perfect evening could be?
Traveling to Pretty Marsh on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island, I arrived to the dock to photograph the upcoming sunset.
Upon arrival, a Loon was fishing next to the pier.
While setting up to shoot and watching this foreboding sky, two dolphins breached right next to the dock where I was standing. I was able to watch them breach a number of times and hear them exhale. Just a glorious sound.
As if that wasn’t enough, it began to rain, and in the rain a double rainbow shined over the harbor across from the sunset.
You can just imagine my excitement to experience perfection. Not only was there a loon, two dolphins, then two rainbows in a light rain shower, but to top it off was a glorious sunset.
Life doesn’t get any better than this.
Now for something fun. Using the 360 Panorama App for iPhone I captured the full scene. Minor edits in lightroom included cropping, clarity, vibrance and exposure adjustments.
Place close attention to the very beginning of this brief video clip and you can enjoy the dolphins as I did.
The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection.

I love when days just happen upon us like that I am blessed with so many I often feel guilty lol well for a brief moment 🙂
Enjoy this glorious cool day!
I’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one blessed with such perfection. The world is truly an incredible place.
We are blessed with EYES THAT SEE
Sometime I pinch myself that this world has so much beauty. I refuse to look at the UGLY lol
You are right..we are lucky that we have our senses in the first place. To see, hear, smell and feel. It makes us so alive.
Sometimes I admire the ugly as there can be beauty found.
So very true
🙂
Wow! I’m running out of superlatives to use for your photos!
LOL ! Wow will suffice….perhaps in caps?
Wonderful… 🙂
Thank you so very much Drake.
I can imagine how excited you were with all of those wonderful photographic opportunities! The sunset shots are absolutely breathtaking! The iphone 360 shot is really cool 🙂
You have no idea, I think I was literally jumping up and down with joy. So happy I was there so that I could share it with you.

Truer words haven’t been spoken Ali. Thank you so much.
My goodness, these are absolutely gorgeous!
You are so sweet Lisa. It was truly an amazing moment.
Awww.. i’d love to see dolphins one day… 🙂
OH I really hope you do. I didn’t think it, but most times I want to jump into the water and swim with them.
A moment captured forever. Speaks to being at the right place and at the right time!
You’re right, the photography has allowed me to immortalize these moments. I did keep an eye on the weather and cloud formations for a week, looking for the perfect moment. Last night was it!
Seize the day!!! Carpe diem!
Everyone needs to explore Maine as you have, there is a innocent sense of wonderment. Thank you for letting us share in your vacation.
Isn’t it true that we lose that sense of wonderment when we get older. We forget how such little things can hold so much meaning. It pleases me so that I’m able to share these moments with you.
A loon, two dolphins, then two rainbows in a light rain shower, but to top it off was a glorious sunset?? Friend, this is perfection beyond infinity.
You’re absolutely right. It was so incredible and perfect. I was truly fortunate.
So much beauty! What a way to end the day….. 🙂

Wow. What a fantastic evening.
It truly was. I think I’ll remember it for a lifetime.
Truly stunning vistas…. Really. Thanks for the info on that app, although I could never do all that fancy editing of yours. 🙂
You are so sweet. I bet you could easily do this editing if you put a little thought in it. I really don’t spend more than a few minutes on each image.
So wonderful and special! 🙂
