A drive to the veterinarian was needed today to pick up some medications for Remy. I had seen on Wolf Creek Equine’sfacebook page that there were some new babies on the farm. I was hoping to be able to see them on my short visit.
I was fortunate as the babies were in a lush field with their mothers enjoying the day. Of course, no drive to the countryside is complete without a barn capture.
The horses paw and prance and neigh,
Fillies and colts like kittens play,
And dance and toss their rippled manes
Shining and soft as silken skeins.

Nice! 🙂
Thank you so much Rasmine!
Oh that little filly is just beautiful! And your barn image is spectacular!
You can tell this filly will be a handful when she grows up. I got to pet her, talk about soft fur ! Thanks on the barn compliment. I think I’ve found my magic formula for processing those barn images.
Oh my is that not the sweetest photograph – love it!
I hope I’m giving you inspiration Mary. This also would be a fantastic painting. I’d be the first one to buy it!
Hi Emily, I haven’t painted horses yet – but am trying to draw one now. and yes, this would make an amazing painting – I should give it a try.
Not sure if you saw my posting on Thursday – actually I think you may not be receiving my postings. Several bloggers have had to un-follow and re-follow my blog, for some reason and this seems to correct the problem.
Have a great weekend – I’m trying really hard to get everything set up on the new website and I might have to re-take each photograph. I know I sound like a broken record, but I’m getting close to having things ready to go – worked with the State and County for taxes, etc.
I haven’t been reading for about two weeks now as I’ve been so busy ! So can’t guarantee I’m not getting your posts on my feed. I’m also seeing my reader numbers drop significantly. I’ll pop over in a minute.
Excellent shots, both of them!
Thanks Jerry ! So happy you liked these.
I really appreciate you not forgot the barn photo… “hahaha”
I did it just for you Drake. 🙂
Beautiful shot ~ horses are such gorgeous animals.
They are such majestic and kind creatures. True mirrors of ourselves.
The barn shot is stunning and of course the mother and foal adorable. Nicely done. 🙂
Thank you so much. As you..the babies are just too cute not to miss.
I really appreciated the detail and texture you captured in your barn photo.
Thanks Charlie, I do appreciate your kind comment. It’s from the post processing. I shoot in RAW, then use NIK Color Efex Pro to draw out the detail and boost color with a vignette.
Gorgeously peaceful.
Thank you Rachael. Funny little bit, I saw the vet and she said that they were painting the barn so the babies were out in the field for a few days. They would lay down like they were in the Serengeti. 🙂
Great photos! The foal is adorable 🙂
So happy you enjoyed these.
Outstanding pasture scenes Emily!
Thanks Phil for your wonderful and generous comment.
Stunning
Thank you so much ! I’m having so much fun with my new Nik Color Efex Pro.
I will test drive a few different ones I may put that on the list 🙂
Get Lightroom first. Great editor, library manager, etc. Then Nik collection gives you all the great creative options with just a click.
OK I still use just Picasa 🙂 (SP)
So does it really have that things you can do to a photo? Hard to learn?
That’s the beauty – not hard to learn at all. It is a plug in with Lightroom. You edit photo in..Nik and then you just click options. Not like photoshop at all where you have to know all the icons and what they do.
Sounds perfect to add to my next computer this one is a relic 🙂 My lap top is 2 years old and probably close to extinction lol
Spring is always more than just flowers everywhere.
