Awesome, seven cubs. I hope the cubs will grow into adulthood like Luke.
Oh yes, they are just over a year old now. There are three left at the zoo, the others have been sent to zoos across the continent. I’m waiting for the rest of the teenagers to leave so that Luke can get his girls back to make new baby cubs!
Voted!!! I love Luke!!!
Thank you so much Rebecca ! We really need a Luke Fan Club!
I’m in…
So beautiful animal and excellent captured… 🙂
So-called “king of the animals” and so actually the male lion is the world greatest “henpecked husband” – the lioness rules among the lions – a funny story, I like the story…. 🙂 😉
Oh it is so true. One little scene, Luke was minding his own business along the water and one of his “wives” came behind him screaming his head off. She smacked him and he just went…”Okay” and ambled off.
I have been meaning to go to the zoo for a shoot. Great shot!
Oh you should ! You’re near DC right? Sounds like a photo field trip is in order.
A lot of character in that face..you just want to reach out and tickle the back of his ears…..
He does seem like such a cuddle bear, but sometimes he looks straight at you and you know he’s king of the jungle.
I too like visiting zoos for all the nice portraits one can get. You have a really nice one of Luke. Did you see my St. Lucia horses? A a horse lover it may interest you. It is not just about gardening.
I did catch your St. Lucia ponies last night. By then I was 2 hours into reading blogs, and just liked it. It was awesome ! I’m versatile, plants…horses, history, whatever, I love it all! 🙂
Sorry, I must have missed the ‘like’. I just noted it because my cousin who I mentioned to you before, saves horses in St. Lucia.
No worries ! You’re a popular girl and your posts are beautiful.
Love the Big Cats – this dude is HANDSOME – thanks for sharing!
He really quite the King isn’t he. Luckily this photo doesn’t show the leaf that was stuck in his hair. LOL!
