It started snowing in earnest late this afternoon. Heading back from the horse farm, I had to stop and capture this beautiful snow scene on a typical Maryland farm. Alas, the light is dwindling as it’s the end of the day, but I’m looking forward to an early start with the camera to capture some wonderful winter scenes.
Canon 7D, 24-105mm L, 1/80 sec, at f/6.3, ISO 250, Auto white balance, aperture priority, + 1/3 exposure compensation. Edits in Lightroom: Medium tone curve, auto tone, vignette 1, noise reduction, clarity added, vibrance added, red/green/yellow luminance and saturation added.

I love the green of the pines, the red of the barn, the white of the snow, and then you have the starkness with that tree – BEAUTIFUL!!! Happy Friday:)
Thank you so much Renee ! I’m so lucky as I get to pass by this farm twice a day when I go to ride pony. Today was the first day I noticed the composition. 🙂
Picture postcard perfect and a real wall hanger Emily! An outstanding country snow scene!
Thank you so much Phil ! Means a lot that you like this so much. 🙂
Beautiful… 🙂
Thank you Drake ! Now you see I’m finally getting my share of some snow. We got an inch of light and fluffy snow and then the storm passed.
What a beautiful scene!! And thanks for sharing the data & edit info! Have a great weekend Emily 🙂
Thank you so much Calee ! I figured that’s the least I can do as I’m getting off kind of easy with this Project 365 with coming up with post ideas. 🙂
This is a beautiful scene and a wonderful photo !
Thank you so much Jocelyn. I’m guessing where you live in Quebec you get to see similar scenes as this one.
Yes I do, and I never get tired of seeing them !
This picture feels like Christmas again. So homey.
So true ! It does like we’re going home to Grandma’s for Christmas. Thank you!
This could be a card! So beautiful 🙂
You know..I may just do that for next Christmas. Great idea Judy!
Great shot!!!
Thanks Rexlin!
Love it! It’s funny how you can see the same thing dozens of times or more, then one day it suddenly jumps out at you.
Oh My ! It is so true ! I haven’t mentioned the large cross I discovered tucked in some trees that I’ve been driving by nearly daily for over seven years. I’m waiting for the light to change in the warmer months to capture it.
Very nice capture of this little slice of Americana. Very nice, indeed.
Thank you so much. We should treasure the American farm life and it is quickly disappearing.
I love photos that draw you in, they tell you a story and start you down your own path. Thank you, great photo.
Wow Charlie, such a wonderful comment. I’m so pleased to hear that this photo reached you in a way that made you think of life. Have a wonderful evening!
This is beautiful…I love the muted colours in this shot – and of course the snow falling too! Lovely
Our winters seem to be getting milder, so I need to take advantage whenever there is snow. Thank you so much for your kind words.
Ah, so peaceful!! As my brother was driving from DC to Philadelphia on Friday, he was talking about this snow, and I was so very jealous… This is just a lovely, postcard-perfect capture.
Thank you so much ! Such a small world that your bro was just in the neighborhood!
Driving thru MD, probably as you were snapping away!!
