After a week chasing birds, I finally had the chance to get back to the barn to ride Remy Martin. She was so happy to see me and we had a wonderful trail ride in the woods. Somehow I think she knew that I had caught the birding bug and cooperatively stopped by some brush so that I could check out some sparrows.
After our ride, I spent a few moments photographing a friend and her horse. He was feeling a little spunky today as the day was beautiful.
Canon 7d, 24-105mm F4.0 L , 1/200, f/7.1, ISO 100. Daylight white balance, aperture priority, hand held. Adjustments in Lightroom 4.3: medium tone curve, LR Preset Vignette 2, OnOne Preset Gritty Warm. Clarity added.

You are doing some serious riding. Not the usual bridle paths where you see many English equestrians.
Certainly not. There is wonderful riding country where you are.
love it!
Thank you so much!
Emily – Very, very professional-looking photo. Awesome!
I appreciate your kind comment Tom! Sometimes I surprise myself and come up with something outstanding. Thank you so much.
Love this. Reminds me of the time I used to ride… π
With all this tempting, you still haven’t gotten back into the saddle Bente? What are you waiting for.
Sounds like it was a nice day for a ride. π
It was an awesome day. Remy had great fun running in the field before we hit the woods.
Great shot, Emily. π
Thank you Sylvia. Hope you’re doing well.
Beautiful shot!
Thank you so much for your kind comment.
Very well captured… π
Maybe one of these days I’ll actually believe I’m halfway decent at this photography thing. Keep complimenting me Drake and I just might get there.
Ooooh the detail and lighting are nice.
Thanks Janet!
Absolutely brilliant photo!
Sometimes the simpliest things become the best. This is now one of my top posts of all time. Hard to imagine.
Great photo!
Thank you so much!
We live the photo! π π
Typo on the iPhone – we LOVE the photo, not live. LOL
You have me laughing as Siri does some strange things when we misspell things.
π
Love the photo. If you took my photo, it would be a Western boot! Love trail riding, it is so relaxing.
That would be wonderful. Riding gangham style. π
Love love loveeeee this photo!!!
Yeee Haw!!
Gorgeous shot! So much detail – feels almost 3D!
Thank you so much Rachel, I appreciate your comment. I know some people create that feel with HDR, but I don’t bother with that as it’s extra work. π
Great shot, and an unusual one Emily. I haven’t been riding for so many years, I had a horse when I was growing that, seems like a lifetime ago now.
Wonderful ! Another horse lover – if you ever make it to DC, I’ll get you on my pony. You were so lucky to have one when you were young. I kept pestering my parents for one and only got little statues. π
