Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia
I close my eyes
only for a moment
and the moment´s gone
All my dreams
pass before my eyes a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song
just a drop of water
in an endless sea
All we do
crumbles to the ground
though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Don´t hang on
nothing lasts forever
but the earth and sky
It slips away
all your money won´t another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind.
Cold winds blowing strongly across the Big Meadows whisking away all that is unsecure.
Life is so fleeting. In just a moment it can all be gone.
Treasure each moment and every precious thing that you hold dear.Lyrics and sung by Kansas.

Beautiful post, Emily. “Treasure each moment,” for sure. 🙂
I’ve had some tough things go down this week and this song came on the radio. Hadn’t heard it in years and it was so timely. Have a wonderful Sunday!
I saw your title and started singing that song before I read your post. GREAT song. Really nice photo as well.
Thanks Mike ! It really is an awesome song isn’t it?
Hi Emily
“Dust in the wind” lovely lyrics. I don’t know the song so shall go on to You Tube right now.
With love
It’s such a poignant song with longing in the song. I hope you did youtube it, as it is a marvelously soul reaching song.
Lovely shot!! The mist adds a bit of mystery and atmosphere to the meadow! I didn’t know Kansas made that song, I’ve only heard it sung by Sarah Brightman before. Will youtube Kansas’s version now 🙂
It was such a cold, windy and foggy morning. All the creatures were hiding except this crazy photographer. Things were blowing like mad.
Such a beautiful shot and all the words just right – “all your money won´t another minute buy”, that’s the reason that we have to use the time we have well and thoughtfully… 🙂 😉
So true Drake, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a pauper or a prince.
You have the most honest and goodness posts! I love the lyrics to this song and seeing them in writing makes one think deeper about them. And the picture pretty much sums it up. Wonderful photography!
You are so sweet Judy ! I had heard this song on the radio this week after many years of not hearing it. The words have such a wonderful message I just had to share. Even it it seems like a ‘lazy’ post.
The moment on the meadow really fit the theme. Thanks again and have a lovely day!
I can’t believe this is a photograph! It looks like an oil painting by a master artist. Absolutely gorgeous and museum-worthy.
WOW ! Really? You really make me feel so special, and I truly appreciate you taking the time and sharing with me what you think of this photo. I get so picky about things being in ‘focus’ that I forget that sometimes the mystical is actually better. Thank you so much!
Wonderful image and hope your week gets better. 🙂
Thank you Phil! Alas, it is to be a lifestyle change in the long-term, whatever happened to the champagne, diamonds and furs? LOL. All will be good though. 🙂
The perfect accompaniment to that amazing song! Thanks Bella 🙂
it is my pleasure Madhu!
Very nice ,but I don’t understand everything (I am polish)
