Dreaming Drake at Sacre Coeur

High on a hill overlooking Paris is the shining white Basilica of Sacre-Coeur. On a clear day, the elegant domes are visible for miles. Built after the French Revolutionary War, this Roman Catholic Church is a favorite among residents, tourists and those on a religious pilgrimage.

As treasured within the church walls is a Blessed Sacrament that has been on display since 1885. This Blessed Sacrament is a consecrated host which Catholics believe turn into the blood and body of Christ during mass and has been continuously displayed high on the church altar.

Guarding the church entrance stand the equestrian statues of King Saint Louis

and Saint Joan of Arc.

Of course, a church is not complete without including some grotesques high on the exterior walls.

And the Parisian views from the terrace of Sacre Coeur are spectacular.

A fellow blogger Le Drake NoirΒ told me how much he loves to sit on the steps of Sacre Coeur and “Just let the thoughts fly.”

I think that is such a wonderful way to spend a day to help find ourselves and to appreciate the world around us.

Let’s all dream of sitting here and “Letting the Thoughts Fly.”

Thanks Drake!

I only can say that those who haven’t tried to be blown away there
    – try it, try it – hurry hurry – you wont regret it … πŸ˜‰
