A well maintained road snakes in and out of this industrial graveyard with no clue as to who put these things there, or when. Evidence of recent activity like new locks and not so old tire tracks tells me that there is someone who cares about these treasures.
One of the abandoned or perhaps carefully preserved vehicles appears to be a fuel truck from the 1930’s. Thinking of how it looks today it appears as if it has been there for years. But surely the forest would have overtaken it more. Someone is painstakingly taking the time to keep nature at bay.
Tucked behind some trees is this vehicle which has both my husband and myself completely stumped as to what it could be – but my guess is that it is a Steam Fire Engine. I believe the top two wheels were to operate a ladder. If so, this is most likely from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s.
Another military vehicle preserved here is a some type of truck probably from the 1940’s.
Of course, you can’t have this type of industrial graveyard without the requisite passenger cars. This Chrysler Imperial from the 1950’s took the brunt of someone’s might.
It was starting to be time to head back to the barn. The sun was shining bright and was washing out the weathered colors anyway. So after a few more photographs we turned to head back vowing to return another day.

Love the images.
Thanks so much Susan. Hope all is well with you.
Good read back stories, nice photos. Good day Nonoy Manga
Thank you so much Nonoy ! Happy you enjoyed this post.
Very nice!
Thanks Christina!
Nice job with the details.
We love your photos! We also love your horse! ;);)
Thanks Maggie ! I know Remy would love to run the fields with you.
You betcha! 🙂
I can’t believe that the passenger car still has a license plate (with an inspection sticker).
I noticed that ! If Remy wasn’t trying to walk off without me, I would have been able to get a better look. Next time I’ll tie her to a tree.
I see this an imagine the person who brought it home new and wonder who they are and where their life went.
Great post…
Beautiful photos – thanks for sharing – need a tetanus shot and watch out for things that bite, hiss and make you plain itch – ha! Have a Great Day:)
LOL ! Indeed..thank goodness for tall riding boots. But I was getting caught up in the brambles though.
I searched Google Images for “steam fire engines” looking through tons of pictures. I then did likewise with “steam farm equipment”. I think what you have a picture of is a piece of farm equipment.
And I was counting you for someone who would actually know what that curious machine was…darn…it’ll remain a mystery.
WHAT FUN! It was a beautiful day and you made the very most of it!
Wonderful pictures of days gone by!

This was a very cool photo set and story Bella. I love finding old places with stuff like this. Thanks for sharing!
It really was cool to discover this place, and I can’t wait to get back there and go a little further and see what else we can find. Next time I’m going to tie Remy to a tree though – she kept distracting me.
I do love those car photos – terrific!
