Came home this afternoon after a pre-dawn departure for a photography workshop in the Eastern Shore. Dinner was being served in the front yard. On the menu? Squirrel Tartare.

This is such an awesome shot!!!
Thank you so much Ali!
Love the shot. Laughed out loud at the Ben Franklin quote. Well played.
Thanks Judy ! What a surprise right?
Is that a vulture? :O
Yes Andy, this is called a Turkey Vulture.
I remember seeing it at the Oregon zoo / aquarium, to be honest I thought it looked hideous but so intriguing at the same time š
I’m with you on that one. š
š
How nice of the vulture to clean your yard up for you!
Indeed, but it left the skin for perhaps the fox that might stop by.
A face only a mother could love but they are stunningly beautiful in flight. They’re pretty skittish, probably because most people dislike them so much, it’s nice you could get such an up close shot.
I was amazed how calm s/he was with me there. Although I’ve learned to get down on the ground to seem less threatening. I’m starting to like the big vultures.
Oh dear. Poor squirrel. Love the quote, Emily. š
If you saw how fat my squirrels are, you’d realize what a gourmet meal this vulture was having. Plenty of squirrels to go around.
What a face!!
Kind but yet odd in its own way. Thanks Judy!
COOL Capture!!!
I’m with you, totally a special moment to capture. Couldn’t have scripted it better.
Love it despite the gruesome subject matter!
