Santa had the right idea. With great libations and the air filled with holiday cheer. Many came from near and far to dare to bare for a worthy cause.
To raise awareness for the Annapolis Wellness House and to collect toy donations for children in need, an annual Speedo Santa Run is held.
The Annapolis Wellness House brings relief to anyone who has suffered from cancer and provides support services not offered by traditional health care organizations.
For the sixth year, this one-mile fun run/walk through downtown Annapolis is enjoyed by both participants and spectators alike.
Beginning at a party tent with live music and bar, people begin to gather getting ready for the run. Even Santa got into the celebratory spirit.
A warm weekend day before Christmas, runners visited in the tent with plenty of garb.
But the real fun is what goes on underneath. After all – this is a SPEEDO run. Yep, those itsy bitsy teeny weeny little short-short, shorts.
DISCLAIMER THE FOLLOWING IMAGES MAY SHOCK OR OFFEND YOU.
If you’re not a fan of partial nudity, know that you have been warned.
So off the run goes, the clothes stripped and people bare. Running down to the Annapolis waterfront, and returning on Main Street. Excitement filled the air with loud cheers and runners passing by both big and small.
Even Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and her seven friends joined in the game.
There was a three-legged team. I wondered if they made it the whole way.
I couldn’t count how many runners there were, but there were a lot of them. They were having so much fun, I started thinking I should join them in the revelry.
And now let’s enjoy some more happy Speedo Santas. Life is to celebrate !

So here I am enjoying a nice little ice storm and you have to go and freeze me with photos of half naked people! 😉
Why do I have the feeling that this event is fueled with copious amounts of alcohol?
LOL !! Back at ya babe. Yep..copious amounts of alcohol required. 🙂
What a hoot. Yah, you should have joined in for the run to support them. It appears to be a warm place to bare it, no pun intended. Good shots!
It was warm today, and it really would have been fun. One year they had 3 inches of snow, while it was snowing. People were so happy you couldn’t help but get caught up in the spirit.
OMG were you dressed like that as well 🙂 Man there would have to be lots to drink even when I was 20 🙂
Oh no…not me ! Although there were plenty of girls dressed up, but had all parts covered. I’d probably go that route, but fun to participate in. Yep..drinking, but I hate feeling hungover now, so don’t drink much anymore. 🙂
🙂 I would go to capture as you did wonder why they don’t do it up here where it is really WINTER 🙂
What a fantastic idea! I would most definitely join in should I live there! I hope it’s a bit warmer over there too and that they raised loads of money for their charity. Well done, everyone, and thanks you for sharing those funny pictures: I had a real good laugh.
Now that is the last thing I would have expected you to say. Although there were many girls dressed cute, not over exposing, so yes, I’d do the same too. It was so much fun! Wish you could have been there with me to enjoy it together.
To celebrate indeed!
Thanks for posting.
It makes one feel so alive when people let go of their inhibitions and just have fun. 🙂
What a fantastic event. I’d have to have a lot of Christmas cheer to lose my clothes though. Fun pics!
🙂 Believe me – there was plenty of Christmas Cheer to go around.
what a great and fun event!! and you captured it very well, emily 🙂
merry christmas to you and your family!
Thank you so much Evi. I’m thrilled that you liked this post. 🙂 Merry Christmas to you, and wish you all the best.
Ha! – thanks so much for sharing! There is a Santa Pub Crawl here and some of the outfits are a little, teeny, tiny bit of you know what!
Now that would be rather interesting to join in on. And you have warm weather too. Merry Merry Christmas Renee. Hope you and your family have a lovely holiday.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You and Your Family too!!!
