We’ve arrived to the cool Maine coast, through 8 states and nearly 800 miles. Passing through verdant Vermont and the White Mountains in New Hampshire and the Appalachian trail.
Driving through quaint true Americana towns today with American flags posted through their Main streets. Steeped in history, farming and pristine countryside.
Some long deserved time for rest and relaxation. Although the mosquitoes here are as large as horses! You know they’re big when you feel them land on you. At least I remembered my bug spray this trip.
Was able to watch a Loon fishing in the waters this evening. Can’t wait to explore and to share my discoveries.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.

HURRAY! I didn’t even know you were doing a Maine escape, Emily, GOOD for you! We love Maine, it’s always been our getaway as well. Altho’ it’s been so long I can’t even remember the last time. Love it all, the air, the skies, the water, the wildlife. Anxious to see more of your great moments, as always. ENJOY!
hehehe..it was a secret. I wanted to surprise everyone ! Good to get a change of scenery for everyone. Love this Acadia, it never gets old.
It is an amazing amazing place… A good secret to keep and enjoy!
Hope you get to enjoy some outstanding Maine lobster!
Oh my you know we will.Lobster through the ears !
Now all you need to do is turn left and go for a couple of thousand miles and you will end up in Vancouver! It’s that easy…. π
HAHA !! Yea..right…Got to say, day 2 and hubby was sick of the car already. And he says he can do a cross-country trip???? LOL !
You always make my day…!!!
LOL !!! Can’t wait to come out your way one day. I already know what I want to do out in Vancouver.
They both look so inviting, I’ll bet that there are trout in the river featured in the second photo.
You know..there very well could be. Although bet the horse size mosquitoes would chase you off.
No, I’m bigger than even Maine mosquitoes, and if all else fails, I’d light up a fat stinky cigar, they repel everything, even bugs.
Here the mosquitoes are just big as ponies, and I don’t need cool. Have a good weekend, Emily! π
Oh wow..what is with places that have such terribly cold winters and their huge mosquitoes? Remind me to bring my bug spray if I ever come to visit you Mabry.
Americana at its finest…somehow it seems it will always be here….
You are so right. The good and the bad of Americana. But all nostalgic.
Wauw… how much green can you fit in one picture. I can just feel the oxygen here π
Never enough. Oh the air here is so clean, and then you get to smell the balsam fir (think christmas tree) and you’re in heaven!
Glad you arrived safely, and I cannot wait to see the photograph you will make there.
You are so kind Lisa. Thank you so much ! I hope to do you justice.
Oh, what a lovely place, Emily. It looks so refreshing. π
It truly is, although it was hot today and they don’t use air conditioners in the homes up here. Looking forward to the cool down this weekend.
Welcome to Maine, memories abound. Hope you enjoy your time there ~ nothing like that little slice of heaven.
Thank you so much Mary. We do love Acadia. It truly is such a special place.
Welcome to New England
Thank you so much, we do love it here.
Me too! π
OK. I’m ready to chill with up in Maine.
This is a fantastic place Tom. Although their winters are really harsh. I can do without that.
