Tiptoe through the window
By the window, that is where I’ll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me
Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
Knee deep in flowers we’ll stray
We’ll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
Tiny Tim
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day today!

beautiful bright red.. perfect for Valentine’s Day π
Thank you so much Vicki ! I hope you’re having a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
I love the photo! However, I’m going to get picky here. “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” was originally published in 1929. The song was written by Al Dubin (lyrics) and Joe Burke (music). Just so the proper people get credit.
The song is played every year by the Holland High School marching band in the Tulip Time festival parades each May in Holland, Michigan. And, if you want to see tulips, the Tulip Time festival is the place to go! I may have to swing by for a day this year, it’s been a few years since I did.
See, I knew I would need your knowledge and expertise one of these times. The only song that comes to my head is the Tiny Tim version with the Uckelele. Thank you so much for this historical correction. I never would have known!
I wouldn’t have associated Michigan with tulips, but you’re absolutely right ! We have our own Holland stateside. π
Happy Valentine’s Day.
I had to look up who had actually written the song, but I knew it wasn’t Tiny Tim, as I had heard it many times before his version was released.
Yes, there are a lot of us of Dutch heritage living here in West Michigan, and one thing we’re good at is growing things, especially flowers.
Great – really a Valentines day post… π
Happy heart day Drake ! Hope you had your heart’s desire. π
Special vision here, love the spray of wonderful colors bouncing off these delicate petals. Great photography!
Happy Valentines Day ~ Mary
Thank you so much Mary ! It was a bit of the challenge with the light and trying to get a pleasing composition. I loved the full bouquet but it just didn’t come across right on film. π
Happy Valentine’s Day back to you Mary.
Beautiful..
So happy you enjoyed this V4vikey

Hope you’ve had a love filled day Evelyn. Thank you!
Well that’s a real beauty Emily!
On a seperate but related note…one time I photographed Tiny Tim sitting on an elephant.
I don’t not at all remember why.
Now that must be a sight to see ! You must hunt and find that long lost photo Phil ! I would love to see it.
I hope you had a fantastic Valentine’s Day and love is abound. π
I’ll have to try to dig that up, it was back in my B&W film days and I don’t even know if I kept the negs. Hopefully I have a print around somewhere.
Hope you had a great V Day as well! My wife bought me a bottle of bourbon so alls right with the world. π
Sweet ! Wife knows you well !
Oh, I do love the color! Perfect for Valentine’s Day! All the very best, my dear friend!
It means so much to me that we’re friends, and this tulip is for you. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you so much Tricia !
Alovely,cheerful post π
Thanks Rachael ! So happy to be able to brighten your day.
Spring really must be on the way when the tulips are on the way! Another place to see them is Holland, where I have seen them, and Lincolnshire, UK where I haven’t.
Beautiful colours!
Now that is the true mecca of tulips ! Holland ! You are so fortunate to be able to have seen them there. It is on my bucket list though. These are store bought. Not even my crocus are up yet. Snow predicted for today. ;-(
So pretty a Valentine! Love the macro red!
Thank you ! Happy Day of passionate Red!
I just heard something on the radio that said that tulips, not roses, are considered the most romantic flower to give on Valentine’s Day. I agree. I think tulips are absolutely beautiful, as evidenced in your photo.
That is interesting ! I always tell hubby that I’m not too much of a rose fan, and they charge triple for them on Valentines. I gave him the tulips, I got the roses. π
I will never be able to get that song out of my head now, haha. π
π Have a happy day Leanne!
