Once upon a time, in the busy metroplis of our nation’s Capital, a baby tiger was born. Meet Gunter, a stunning beautiful Sumatra Tiger that was born on May 24, 2006 at the Washington National Zoo. Part of the Sumatran Tiger Species Survival Program (SSP), Gunter was destined for greatness.

Fast forward six years later, and Gunter was given VIP treatment with first class international air service to Japan. Off to meet his match-made mate, Deru who is a beautiful tiger and of the same age. Remaining at the National Zoo is Gunter’s twin sister, Damai who now has A new beau named Kavi that came from Atlanta. Here’s hoping the Tiger twins have healthy, wonderful baby tigers for all of us to enjoy.

    • Isn’t he something? Can’t wait to see his babies. My friend is the big cat keeper and she took care of Gunter. He loved her and would purr along the fence in his cage. But she would never dare go into the cage as she knew he would just attack her.
