The one excellent thing that can be learned from a lion is that whatever a man intends doing should be done by him with a whole-hearted and strenuous effort.

Love a lion in the garden – great capture:) Happy Weekend!
Thanks Renee. This photo is just ok. They look great in the garden, but they are best captured when the flowers are blooming around them.
I actually love how the lion stands out – just draws your eye in and you are not looking at anything else:)
Looks like quite the stately gentleman there Emily! Excellent!
There are a pair along a walkway with an arch leading into a ‘secret’ garden with St. Francis. Not too secret though as the shrubbery is rather low. 🙂
Beautiful! This reminds me of the lion statue at the gate of Tanglewood in Lenox, MA.
I bet that lion statue is stunning! You should share a photo of it.
The Lion King.
Indeed, one of four in the garden. I love lions.
“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
One of my most favorite books ever. Thank you so much for such a wonderful quote Rebecca.
Love this combination…. LOVE it! 🙂
You are too sweet my dear.
I like that idea, really good.
You are over generous on this one. Sometimes we’re our worst critic.:-)
We are, I like the sentiment, and I think that is my problem sometimes, I don’t give it my all, there is usually the lack of confidence that often holds me back.
You are joking right??? Lack of confidence? Not you! For me..it’s just plain laziness or feeling tired.
No, I do suffer from lack of confidence, I don’t enter competitions because they might find out I’m a fraud, or they will laugh at me. It is terrible, I remember one of my teachers always saying to me you have to stop getting approval from everyone, just do it.
Your work is outstanding and have no idea why you think you would be looked at as a fraud. Just do it ! Start little and you’ll see all is okay. 🙂
Yes, I do need to do that, am going to start looking for some comps this year. I want to enter a big one here, but I need to do some weird portraits, so am working on some ideas for that. You are wonderful, thank you.
We should try and connect on google+ sometime.
