If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant:
if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

Beautiful photos.
Thanks Tuxedo ! Wouldn’t you love to tiptoe through those tulips?
Flowers are so beautiful, thank you so much for sharing
Always my pleasure to share with you Rimas. I saw thousands of orchids today. It was unbelievable!
That is one interesting looking and colorful branch. The white tulips aren’t too shabby either. Nicely done, Emily.
I’m guessing it is a Witch Hazel tree. Longwood Gardens is world famous for their huge tree collection. I spent two hours in the Conservatory and quickly forgot that it was wintertime. When stepping out I literally had culture shock with the reality that it was cold.
We need the cold temperature for the bulbs to come out in spring, otherewise, no tulips, daffodils, blue puppies, onions, garlic, blah, blah, blah…
Oh..thanks for reminding me. It was certainly an icebox outside of the conservatory.
Witch Hazel? How fantastic – and beautiful, especially with the snow caps 🙂
Really love the first pic! Nice work Emily. 😀
Thank you Ian ! BTW, just in case check your spam basket as at times my comments have been landing there on other blogs. How you been? Settling back in after your fantastic holiday?
Thanks for letting me know, I just found 5 or so in there from you, as well as others. Sorry I didn’t check before now. All is well back here in the land of Oz… slowly coming back to reality 🙂 How’s life in your world?
Oh, not your fault at all. WP got buggy on me and support wouldn’t help.
😦 I was wondering why you went quiet. All good now…. I will try and keep checking.
What on earth is that red mop-like thing. 😉
LOL ! I love your description of it. It’s a Witch Hazel tree. 🙂
Wow, lovely shots!!! Beautiful flowers!!!
You would have loved this field trip Rexlin. Thousands upon thousands of blooming orchids. It was spectacular!
We love the top photo! Flowers below are really nice too! 🙂 🙂
Thank you so much Maggie ! I’m so glad that I had stopped to take it as when we returned for lunch, the snow was gone.
Keep the excellent flower photos coming please! We’re going to get another foot of snow tomorrow, it will be a while before anything blooms here.
Oh my..then that means tomorrow post will be dedicated to you then!
Great shots, just love the first one… 🙂
The quote is so right in my eyes – we humans need some changes during the year
otherwise we don’t enjoys the best part of it… 😉
It does help to rock the boat now and again. It shakes us out of our complacency and boredom of every day lives.
beautiful photos!
Thank you so much Cristian. I appreciate you stopping by and commenting.
Love both of the photographs – looks like the white caps can’t hold the colorful dangling hairs any longer! All my Spring time bulbs are sprouting with buds waiting to open – imagine that. Love that Spring is in the air.
It was such an intriguing look with the snow and the Witch Hazel. How could I not stop and admire a piece of mother nature’s artwork. You’re lucky as my bulbs are barely sprouting so far.
I can’t wait until we have tulips here in Amsterdam! A few more months… The first picture: I don’t know what it is, but I like it!!! Looks like pompoms 🙂
Oh Calee, how I fantasized about going to Holland this year to photography the tulips. That must be a moving and visually incredible experience. If I ever make it, I’ll have to find you so we can go take photos together. 🙂
That would be so much fun!! Come!!! :d
Your work is absolutely gorgeous! It’s nice that you informed us of what you have in your camera bag! There are so many things to see, but many times, I’m not too sure what to get. I guess it’s a matter of how much you use your camera. I have a huge fetish for cameras, especially Canon. They rock! Keep up the wonderful work!
Thank you so very much for stopping by and commenting Debby. When I see other photographers share their tricks and toys, it helps me a lot to know which way to head. I have four sets of film cameras that I really should start playing with. Perhaps one day, but in the meantime, I’m in love with my Canon DSLR ! Hope to see you back soon! Bella
Magnificently stunning colours! Your photos are beautiful 🙂
Thank you so much Judy. You would have loved this field trip. There were beautiful water fountains and pools within the conservatory with chairs tucked into the plantings. All for the sitting and escaping from the world.
Sounds really nice!!
¡Que belleza! ¡increíbles colores!
Hola Manoli! Gracias por todo sus palabras simpatico.
You’re dreaming of the second image and I’m dreaming of the first.
LOL ! So true Leanne ! You are funny!
